Dez Giraldi moves to Sydney FC

Giraldi starts his tenure with Sydney FC from this week and looks likely to start in the weekends pre-season trial match for Sydney FC.
The Wolves are happy for Dez to continue and advance his career and identify this move as another clear indication of the pathways that they speak about creating for players in the Illawarra.
The club always viewed Dez?s signing half through the season as a mutually beneficial one where he could assist them to win games and at the same time showcase his abilities to prospective A?League clubs after limited opportunities at Adelaide United under John Kosmina and Aurelio Vidmar.
Wollongong FC are disappointed regarding the timing of the approach by Sydney FC with two games left in the TeleChoice Premier League, Wollongong FC challenging for the championship and the A-League season still some 4 weeks away.
It is disappointing that Sydney FC could not come to an arrangement with the Wolves where Giraldi could complete the regular season competition with the Wolves as they have organised with other state league clubs.
Giraldi joins Sydney FC on a free transfer.
A former junior, Giraldi provided great value in his return for the Wolves with the team being unbeaten during his most recent stint and the club hopes that his move will provide the opportunities for Dez to realise his full football potential. We also hope that his move provides further motivation for the many talented young players in Wollongong to follow in his footsteps.
