Dewhurst makes Hyundai A-League debut

27-year-old Dewhurst joined NSW SLFR in 2000 as an eager young Referee from the Sutherland Branch. Pretty soon he was making his mark in the State League and in next to no time he was appointed to the former National Youth League (NYL) Assistant Referees panel and later to the NYL Referees Panel where he remained until the competition folded.
Since then Daniel has continued to service the NSW Premier League as U20’s Referee and more recently concentrating on becoming an elite Assistant Referee.
Dewhurst was both delighted and nervous with his appointment to the panel when I spoke with him recently, after putting in many years of hard work and narrowly missing a nomination for last year?s panel. Daniel?s nomination was acclaimed by his peers and the State Referees Coach, Steve Fenech, who have all helped and seen Daniel work so hard to this goal.
NSW State League Football Referees wishes Daniel the best of luck as he joins Strebre Delovksi, Alex Glasgow, Sara Ho, Murray Wilson, Kris Griffiths-Jones and James Lewis on the HAL in season 2008-09.
