Division One Youth League Round 22 Review
Congratulations go to all the teams which participated in the Division One Youth League as they all made a significant contribution to the overall standard of the competition.
Ten of the twelve clubs will be represented in the finals series which begins at Valentine Sports Park on Sunday with only newcomers Hakoah a Springwood missing out. Best wishes go to all the team in the play-offs and I hope you will all enjoy the experience.
The Club Championship
Blacktown Spartans had already claimed the Club Championship and they ended the season with a wining margin of twenty-four points after they took ten from their visit to tenth placed Stanmore Hawks while Mt Druitt Town Rangers finished in second spot following their haul of eleven points at home to sixth placed Sydney University.
Fraser Park were seven points further back at third after they bagged eleven points at home to eleventh placed Springwood and Gladesville Ryde Magic were nine points further adrift following their gain of six points from the three games played at ninth placed Rockdale City Suns
Camden Tigers finished fifth when they grabbed eleven points from their trip to twelfth placed Hakoah and Hurstville City Minotaurs ended up at seventh after they earned eight points at eighth placed Hills United.
Just in case you were wondering, Football NSW has long since decided that there is nothing ?minor? about winning the competition and so the team at the top of the table at the end of the season is called the ?Premiers? and the winner of the Grand Final is called the ?Champions?.
Grade 13
Gladesville Ryde Magic are the Premiers and they won the competition by a margin of five points despite their match against eleventh placed Rockdale City Suns being washed out on Saturday while Camden Tigers finished in second position following their 1-1 draw with seventh placed Hakoah.
Sydney University were placed third after they drew 0-0 with ninth placed Mt Druitt Town Rangers and Blacktown Spartans were fourth thanks to their 8-0 victory over twelfth placed Stanmore Hawks.
Fraser Park finished in fifth place at fifth when they drew 0-0 with sixth placed Springwood who missed a place in the finals by a single point and Hurstville eighth after they had a 1-1 draw with tenth placed Hills United.
Grade 14
Blacktown Spartans have claimed the Premiership by a margin of five points after they produced a 3-0 victory over eleventh placed Stanmore Hawks while Hurstville City Minotaurs finished second following their scoreless draw with sixth placed Hills United.
Fraser Park ended the season in third place following their 1-0 success over ninth placed Springwood and Mt Druitt Town Rangers were placed fourth after they had a 2-0 win over tenth placed Sydney University.
Camden Tigers finished fifth thanks to their 2-0 result over twelfth placed Hakoah and Gladesville Ryde Magic ended up at seventh after their match against eighth placed Rockdale City Suns was washed out.
Grade 15
Blacktown Spartans ended up eleven points clear at the top of the competition table and they had already claimed the Premiership title when they produced a 4-0 result over twelfth placed Stanmore Hawks while Fraser Park were second after they were 2-0 winners over ninth placed Springwood.
Hurstville City Minotaurs were placed third following their 3-0 win over tenth placed Hills United and Mt Druitt Town Rangers were fourth after they drew 1-1 with sixth placed Sydney University who have missed a place in the finals by a single point.
Camden Tigers finished fifth after they defeated seventh placed Hakoah by the odd goal in five and Gladesville Ryde Magic were eighth following their 1-0 result over eleventh placed Rockdale City Suns.
Grade 16
Stanmore Hawks claimed the Premiership by a margin of three points following their 2-0 win over seventh placed Blacktown Spartans and Mt Druitt Town Rangers claimed second spot with a 4-2 victory over sixth placed Sydney University who were just one point outside the top five.
Fraser Park finished in third place after they were 3-1 winners over twelfth placed Springwood and Hurstville City Minotaurs were fourth following their 3-0 success over ninth placed Hills United.
Rockdale City Suns ended up in fifth position after they defeated eighth placed Gladesville Ryde Magic 1-0 and Camden Tigers finished tenth following their 3-0 victory over eleventh placed Hakoah.
Grade 18
Gladesville Ryde Magic finished at the top of the table by two points and they were crowned Premiers after they had a 3-0 win over eighth placed Rockdale City Suns while Mt Druitt Town Rangers finished second following their 2-1 result over fifth placed Sydney University.
Blacktown Spartans claimed third position when they drew 0-0 with ninth placed Stanmore Hawks and Camden Tigers were placed fourth after they drew 2-2 with tenth placed Hakoah.
Hills United finished sixth thanks to a 4-0 win over eleventh placed Hurstville City Minotaurs and Fraser Park were seventh after they drew 3-3 with twelfth placed Springwood.
