Triantis in a league of his own

Playing for former National Soccer League side Sydney Olympic, Triantis has been a menace in the middle of the park for all opposition.
His performances have so far led to him trialling for Sydney FC?s youth team squad at the present time, however this is not the first time the youngsters talent has been spotted.
At 16 years of age, the central midfielder ventured over to France and trialled for Monaco and FC Metz. However, when he was set to sign with the French club, a Soccer Australia rule prevented him from doing so as he was only 16 years of age.
Nevertheless, Triantis never gave up and says that the experience taught him a lot about football.
?It was a good experience at such a young age. The extra training over there benefits you, and I can see it now when I play. I mean over there we would train up to four times a day starting at 6 in the morning till 8 at night,? said the youngster.
After returning to Sydney Olympic last season and debuting from the bench, Triantis has never looked back as he improves on his game each week.
His performances have been spotted by a number of people, one being Sydney Olympic teammate and now Sydney FC midfielder Shannon Cole.
Cole stated on 2GLF?s ?Off the Post? that Triantis could almost easily make the jump to the A-League.
?There are a number of players that could make the jump into the A-League. Chris Triantis I think could get in there and it is great to see Robbie Younis at Adelaide too,? said Cole.
The 21 year old is also setting the bar high for himself, as he aims to sign with the Sydney FC youth team and go on to play for the first team squad,
?Well I hope to sign for the team, and then by half way through the season pressure the older boys for their spots,? said an eager Triantis.
However, Triantis hopes to one day return overseas and make up for the chance that went begging when he was a 16 year old.
For now my goal is the A-League, but my ultimate goal is overseas and in one of the better European leagues. The A-League is stil growing and it is a great stepping stone for youngsters now, as people do watch the league from overseas,? concluded Triantis.
