Berries welcome John Calleja as head coach for 2009

According to the Club’s CEO Laki Konistis, “John Calleja is well known amongst the football family and is highly respected by all the players that have played under him. I am certain he will relish the opportunity given to him to be a part of the Telechoice Premier League next season”.
John Calleja has coached in recent seasons at Parramatta, Eastern Suburbs, Sutherland, Bonnyrigg and Wollongong. This year he coached the St. George Saints in the NSW Super League.
“Im very happy to be coaching at a club with so much history as the West Sydney Berries and I am very much looking forward to taking the club back to its glory days. I will be working closely with my assistant coach Matthew Ribarovski, my U/20’s coach Nick Poniris, with our primary aim being to ensure on-field success in 2009”. 
According to assistant coach Matthew Ribarovski, “I too am looking forward to the challenge of Premier League and assisting John in making the club successful”.
Coach of the U/20’s for next season will be Nick Poniris who has enjoyed Premier League football with both Sydney Olympic and Bankstown City in recent times.
