Following three consecutive losses against Queensland Roar, Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets, the Mariners need points to keep their chances of a Top-Four finish alive.
The Mariners? opponents Adelaide United sit in sixth-spot on the W-League ladder, one-point clear of the Mariners, providing both sides with a chance to kick-start their charge towards finals football.
Central Coast midfielder Karina Roweth was happy with her side?s performance in the ?F3 derby? last weekend, though cited concentration lapses as the side?s undoing:
?We played well for large spells, though we didn?t get the win which is really disappointing. In the moments where we have dominated we have conceded goals ? something we really need to work on.?
Mariners? coach Stephen Roche shared his midfielder?s thoughts, though the boss has been frustrated at his side?s inability to turn their match dominance into wins:
?We have played so well over the past couple of weeks though we have very little to show for it in terms of results. It is back to the drawing boards, though with a bit of luck we will get the break we need.?
The Mariners will feature on Saturday afternoon in ABC?s match of the round from 4:00 pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time – Adelaide United v Central Coast Mariners from Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide.
