Illawarra United Stingrays snap up Trudy Camilleri for 2009

The signing of Trudy Camilleri is the major signing in the off season and is one of many signings the club has made on their journey back into the Arrive alive Women?s Premier League.
?Trudy will add stability and creativeness to the midfield and is a good organizer,” Coach Brett Wallin commented. ?
We are looking forward to bringing our young club back into the Premier League and the future of women?s football in the Illawarra area is in a very stable position due to the continuing ties with the IJFA and IWFA”, Wallin added.
The pathway developed at the Illawarra Stingrays continues to grow with Johnny Warren with Johnny Warren development players Ann Mayo, Lilly Dillinger and NSW Country U17 representatives Lou Lightfoot and Shelby Fenech having all been members of the program.
Leading players Michelle Carney, Michelle Heyman, Jessica Cooper & Sarah Gollop are looking forward to the new challenges ahead in 2009.
With all members from last years winning grand final Super League side but one signed the new additions will reinforce the team for this year?s competition.
Additions of former players Sarah Johnston and Halley Kerrigan will also strengthen the senior squad.
The Stingrays this season will be competing in the top competition organized by Football NSW after a season in the Super League.
It is very important for the club to maintain the progress achieved last season and we believe that the new signings will hold the club in good stead for 2009.
