The Youth League Report – Super Youth League (Round 1)
Let me take this opportunity to wish every club, team and player the very best of luck for the season and I sincerely hope that you will all find it to be a rewarding one.
Club Championship
If the results from the season?s opening day are an indication, this could be a very closely fought season. After a full round of play there are only four points between the club at the top and the club at the bottom of the table.
Dulwich Hill started with a bang as they bagged nine points at home to Northern Tigers while PCYC Parramatta have a share of the lead after they took nine points from their clash with Spirit FC.
Western Panthers earned eight points from their home matches against Schofields Scorpions and newly promoted Blacktown Spartans grabbed eight points at home to Granville Rage.
Sydney Wanderers were another club to take eight points and theirs came at the expense of Southern NSW while Central Coast Lightning completed the picture when they pocketed eight points from their meeting with Macarthur Rams.
Grade 13
PCYC Parramatta had a healthy start to the season when they posted a 5-1 result over Spirit FC while Central Coast Lightning were 4-0 winners over Macarthur Rams.
Blacktown Spartans produced a 3-0 result when they faced Granville Rage and Dulwich Hill downed Northern Tigers 1-0.
Schofields Scorpions would have been happy with their 2-1 victory at Western Panthers while Sydney Wanderers and Southern NSW played out a 2-2 draw.
Grade 14
Central Coast Lightning registered a very respectable 4-1 scoreline to open their account against Macarthur Rams and Blacktown Spartans took the points with the last kick of the game when they downed Granville Rage by the odd goal in seven.
Southern NSW came up with a 2-0 triumph at Sydney Wanderers while Northern Tigers earned all the points when they were 3-2 winners over Dulwich Hill.
PCYC Parramatta bagged three points with a 1-0 result over Spirit FC while Western Panthers and Schofields Scorpions finished at 0-0.
Grade 15
PCYC Parramatta were the biggest winners in this age group when their clash with Spirit FC ended at 3-0 and Western Panthers edged out Schofields Scorpions with a 2-1 result.
That scoreline was repeated when Northern Tigers got up over Dulwich Hill and when Granville Rage defeated Blacktown Spartans.
Sydney Wanderers and Southern NSW battled out a 2-2 draw and then that scoreline appeared again at the end of the match between Central Coast Lightning and Macarthur Rams.
Grade 16
Macarthur Rams showed that the meant business when they accounted for Central Coast Lightning with a 6-2 result while Western Panthers downed Schofields Scorpions 2-0 and Spirit FC took the points from PCYC Parramatta with the same scoreline.
Dulwich Hill were 2-1 winners over Northern Tigers and Sydney Wanderers had a 1-0 win over Southern NSW while the game between Blacktown Spartans and Granville Rage stood at 1-1 at the final whistle.
Grade 18
Sydney Wanderers had the biggest scoreline in this age group but it sadly came from a match in which Southern NSW forfeited the points. Spirit FC ended up with their noses in front at the conclusion of their seven goal thriller with PCYC Parramatta and Dulwich Hill edged out Northern Tigers with a 1-0 result.
Western Panthers battled out a 3-3 draw with Schofields Scorpions and then that scoreline was repeated at the final whistle of the clash between Blacktown Spartans and Granville Rage. In the other match on the day Central Coast Lightning and Macarthur Rams were locked together at 2-2 at the final whistle.
