State League Division One Preview

Round Two has four matches scheduled for Saturday evening, all kicking off at 7-30 pm, with Round One losers, Hills Brumbies and Fairfield City Lions, locking horns and both no doubt hoping to pick up their first points of the season. The match will be played at Second Ponds Oval, Rouse Hill.
Stanmore Hawks are back at Arlington Oval again, but this time as the home team. They are up against Mounties FC, who will be eager to get on the paddock after their first round match was postponed due to last week?s thunderstorm. 
Sydney Wanderers are another who missed out last week due to the rain, and they will have their work cut out stopping the attacking prowess of McPherson and his Schofield Scorpions. Hajduk Stadium will host this eagerly awaited clash, and be prepared for goals as both sides aim for a very important three points.
Newly promoted Balmain SC will venture onto their new home ground for the first time, Lambert Park at Leichhardt, a famous venue steeped in history and tradition. Blacktown Spartans are the visitors, and they will no doubt be hoping to pick up their second three points of the season and skip to the top of the competition.
There are two matches scheduled for 3-00pm kickoffs on Sunday, with the big one being the clash between Inter Lions and Dulwich Hill.
The last time these two clubs met was in last season?s preliminary final, where Dully prevailed in somewhat of an upset to reach the grand final.
No doubt that wound is still relatively fresh, and Inter will be out for revenge in what promises to be a classic confrontation.
With both teams picking up three points in the first round, there is a lot at stake at the picturesque Concord Oval on Sunday afternoon.
The other match will be played at David Phillips Field between UNSW and Hurstville ZSC, with the home side keen to play their first match of 2009 against the visitors, who will be smarting from their opening season loss last week to Schofields. 
Footnote ? the first round postponement of the clash between Sydney Wanderers and Balmain SC has been rescheduled for this coming Tuesday evening, March 24, kicking off at 8-30pm at Hajduk Stadium.
