State League Division 1 Round 5 Preview

Most of the Division One teams will have had upto three weeks between games due to a combination of wet weather and the scheduled Easter break, so players will be eager to get back on the paddock and strut their stuff.
There are four games on Saturday evening, all kicking off at 7-30pm, with Dulwich Hill versus Schofields at Arlington Oval being the pick of the round.
The Scorpions will be looking towards their fearsome attack to crack the best defence in the league, but Dully have had a good start to 2009 and will hope to continue their faultless record at home.
Balmain SC have had a steady start to their first season in Division One, and face a real test away to Mounties FC, a force to reckoned with in 2009. The game, at Cook Park Mt Pritchard, will no doubt attract plenty of local support as the home side look to carry on their great form thus far.
Francis Park No.2 will host another cracker of an encounter with Blacktown Spartans taking on Sydney Wanderers. The young Spartans are seven points from nine in their opening three games, but the Wanderers are starting to hit their straps and will no doubt provide a stern test for the home side.
In the other Saturday night fixture, Hills Brumbies will tackle Stanmore Hawks at Second Ponds Oval, with both teams hoping to grab their second win of the season and start to move away from the bottom half of the ladder.
Sunday afternoon sees Inter Lions traveling to David Phillips Field to play against UNSW in a tricky encounter for the competition leaders.
UNSW have only played the two games this season thus far, and will be eager at home to take the game to the Lions in a bid to grab something from the match ? the game kicks off at 3-00pm.
The final match will be played at Norford Park No.2, also at 3-00pm, with Fairfield City Lions hosting Hurstville ZSC.
Fairfield finally kicked off their season in their last match with a win, and will be hoping to pick up another three points against Hurstville, who will no doubt be desperate to get off the bottom rung of the ladder.
Footnote ? with the recent wet weather forcing a number of postponements in Division One, we will attempt to keep you abreast of the rescheduling of all matches. But to confirm new dates and times, please log onto the Football NSW website for the details.
