Demons Sports Club Limited and Blacktown City Demons Inc
The Football Club, Blacktown City Demons Inc, which operates the Premier League and Premier Youth League teams is a separate legal entity to the Demons Sports Club Limited. The Football Club has been aware of the financial difficulties which have bedevilled the licensed Club for the last couple of years. The licensed club, Demons Sports Club Limited ceased trading today.
Blacktown City Demons Inc with the full knowledge of the trading problems associated with the licensed club industry did not budget for financial support being provided by the Demons Sports Club Limited to underwrite operations of the football teams associated with Blacktown City Demons Inc.
The fixtures between Blacktown City Demons and Wollongong Community Football Club will proceed as scheduled on Saturday 9th May, at Gabbie Stadium. Kick off times for Saturday at Gabbie Stadium are as follows:
- U13 Match deferred due to players selected for the FFA National Junior Team
- U14 9:15am
- U15 10:40am
- U16 12:15pm
- U18 2:00pm
- Grade 20 4:00pm
- First Grade 6:00pm
Blacktown City Demons Inc. and the Australian Karate Association Pty Ltd; which acquired the ownership and management rights of Gabbie Stadium from the Demons Sports Club Limited in January this year, are in discussions regarding new arrangements for the use of Gabbie Stadium for the balance of the 2009 Premier League and Premier Youth League season.
These discussions have become necessary as a result of a Liquidator being appointed to the Demons Sports Club Limited. The Demons Sports Club Limited, as part of an arrangement with the Australian Karate Association Pty Ltd, was providing assistance with the maintenance and upkeep of Gabbie Stadium. A new commercial agreement is therefore being negotiated between Blacktown City Demons Inc and the Australian Karate Association Pty Ltd to reflect the change in circumstances.
