The Youth League Report (Premier Youth League) Round 12

run

The other clubs will now need to find a suitable date on which to make up these missing matches and the appropriate announcements will be made shortly.
This week we will combine those results with a close look at each of the competition tables.
Manly would have been pleased that the games were played on Saturday as they earned eight points from their trip across town.
Grade 13
West Sydney Berries have established a handy lead of six points on this competition table and they will be fully aware that every team will be gunning for them so they will need to retain their good form for quite a while yet if they are to remain where they are.
Sydney Olympic are in second spot and they are three points clear of their nearest rivals but then things become very interesting indeed as there are only five points separating the next seven teams.
Bonnyrigg White Eagles are in third position and only one point ahead of fourth placed Wollongong FC and fifth placed Manly United who were held to a 2-2 draw by ninth placed Sutherland Sharks on Saturday. Two points further back are sixth placed Marconi Stallions and seventh placed Blacktown City Demons who are separated only by goal difference.
Only two points behind the Stallions and the Demons are Sydney United at eighth and Sutherland Sharks at ninth with their positions being determined by goal difference. Sydney Tigers seem to be facing a remote chance of reaching the finals as they are five points further adrift in tenth place while Bankstown City and Penrith Nepean United are two points behind the Tigers at eleventh and twelfth positions respectively as determined by goal difference.
Grade 14
A span of seven points covers the top five teams in this competition and then there is a gap of three points to the next group of eight teams who are separated by only eight points.
Marconi Stallions lead the way on the competition table by a margin of three points over second placed Blacktown City Demons and they are currently four points ahead of Sutherland Sharks who went three points clear of fourth placed Manly United when they beat them 4-1 on Saturday.
Sydney Tigers are fifth and only behind Manly on goal difference while Penrith Nepean United are three points further back at sixth and one point ahead of seventh placed Sydney United.
There is then a gap of four points to eighth placed Wollongong FC and they are one point ahead of Sydney Olympic while NSWIS Girls are one point further back at tenth.
Another gap of two points finds eleventh placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles and they are followed by West Sydney Berries and Bankstown City who are two points further away and separated by goal difference.
Grade 15
The top three teams have created a bit of a break but then there are only five points separating fourth from eighth so everybody will be treading carefully over the next few weeks.
Blacktown City Demons and Marconi Stallions are locked together on points at the top of the table with their positions being determined by goal difference and they are now only two points clear of third placed Manly United who were 1-0 winners over sixth placed Sutherland Sharks on Saturday.
Then there is a gap of six points to fourth position which is occupied by Sydney United who are one point ahead of fifth placed Wollongong FC and two points in front of sixth placed Sutherland Sharks.
Two points further back at seventh are Sydney Olympic and they are one point in front of Penrith Nepean United who are three points clear of ninth placed West Sydney Berries. That means that positions fifth to ninth are covered by a blanket of only seven points.
Bankstown City are two points behind the Berries and two points ahead of eleventh placed Sydney Tigers. Bonnyrigg White Eagles are one point adrift of the Tigers and NSWIS Girls are two points further back at thirteenth.
Grade 16
With only eight points between first and seventh places, every team will be keeping a very careful eye on the others around them while being careful to avoid slip-up that could prove costly.
Wollongong FC are the competition leaders by two points and they are being shadowed by three teams on the same number of points and only separated by goal difference. They are Blacktown City Demons, Sydney United and Manly United who were held to a scoreless draw on Saturday by ninth placed Sutherland Sharks.
At this point the table takes on a fascinating look as there are only seven points between fifth and twelfth. Four points further back at fifth are West Sydney Berries who are two points better off than Sydney Tigers and Sydney Olympic while Bonnyrigg White Eagles are one point further adrift at eighth.
Sutherland Sharks are only a point away at ninth and they have an advantage of two points over Marconi Stallions and Penrith Nepean United and then Bankstown City are only two points further back at twelfth.
Grade 18
While the top four appear to be fairly comfortable at the moment, it won?t take much to upset that apple cart. Meanwhile, there are only five points between fifth and ninth so there is bound to be a good deal in every result over the next few weeks.
Wollongong FC have a very handy lead of four points at the top of the ladder while second placed Sutherland Sharks have a buffer of four points over          West Sydney Berries while Manly United are one point further back after they produced a 3-1  victory over the Sharks on Saturday.
Then, three points away are Marconi Stallions, Blacktown City Demons and Bankstown City who are locked together on points and have their positions determined by goal difference.
Sydney Olympic are two points behind those three teams at eighth and they are three points better off than ninth placed Sydney United. Penrith Nepean United and Sydney Tigers are two points worse off but they are three points ahead of NSWIS Boys who a point ahead of thirteenth placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles.
