It took a headed goal from 27-year-old Daniel Cunningham in the 42nd minute that booked Spirit FC a spot into round 4 of the Tiger Turf Cup.
It was a bitter blow for Olympic who were last season?s Tiger Turf Cup finalists and also lost their fourth straight match with losses to Sydney United, Sutherland Sharks and Marconi Stallions.
The Blues fielded a relatively strong squad with the likes of Tolgay Ozbey, Jordan Simpson, Paul Wither, Adam Biddle, Matthew Mayora all playing in the club?s loss to Spirit FC.
Spirit FC, coached by former Socceroo Jason Van Blerk, have been moving steadily in their first season in the Super League with their aim in one day being part of the TeleChoice Premier League.
The final round 3 Tiger Turf Cup fixture between the Central Coast Lightning and Sydney Tigers will be played on Tuesday 2nd June at Pluim Park with kick-off set for 8.15pm.
