Football NSW State Titles Festival of Football kicks off

The Under 11 Titles at Bathurst attracted huge crowds of spectators as the cream of the elite Metropolitan Representative League and the Country Branches battled it out. After two full rounds on Day One it was Country Western and Metropolitan West that shone through with maximum points. A highlight of the day was the great win by the NSW Country Under 14 girls against Metropolitan North. The girls are an invitee to this tournament and have proven a very worthy addition.
The Under 15 Titles in Orange are also well under way and after two round there is a traffic jam at the top of the table with Metropolitan Far North, Metropolitan East, Metropolitan West and Metropolitan South all gaining the maximum points available.
Whilst in Bathurst, the Under 16 titles commenced in terrific weather and at this early stage of proceedings it is Metropolitan Far North, Metropolitan Far South and Metropolitan South grabbing the points on Day One.
I spent the day at Wagga Wagga for Day One of the Under 14 Titles and what a magnificent venue Rawlings Park turned out to be. Only minutes from Lake Albert and set amongst a very picturesque valley of tall trees, these very talented boys gave their all. At the end of the day it was Metropolitan Far South and Metropolitan South grabbing the available points and setting the pace for the remainder of the week.
Rawlings Park was a credit to these Titles and the local Wagga Wagga Association should feel proud of their efforts. Television coverage on WIN and great coverage in the local press are only two of the initiatives taken by Wagga Wagga General Manager, Donna Baker and her very eager band of volunteers.
These Titles continue all week and all today?s results can be viewed in the Competitions > Tournament > NSW State Titles page on this website.
