State League Division Two Round 1 Championship Series Preview

All these sides will be chasing Premiers Camden Tigers as they will be enjoying the week off while the four other sides fight it out in week one.
There will be two games held on Sunday afternoon at Belmore Sports Ground, beginning with the Preliminary Semi-Final at 2.30pm between Gladesville Ryde Magic and Colo Colo Wanderers. The winner out of this game will go on to play for a grand final spot against Camden Tigers the following week. The loser will compete against the winner of the Elimination Semi Final in the second week of the finals which will either be Prospect or Hurstville City.
Gladesville has been consistent in 2009 and with only one loss in the season they have the capabilities to take the major prize. However Colo Colo Wanderers has been in sensational form and will be dangerous opponents for Gladesville come Sunday afternoon. Pedro Gonzalez secretary of the Colo Colo Wanderers said that his side has been in sensational form: ?We have a fit side capable of doing well; we are free of injuries and have no suspensions so we will be prepared for this all important clash on Sunday?. ?We have a good mixture of talent in our side, every player has put in a sensational effort, and with our coach always motivated our players feel comfortable and confident that they can put in a quality performance in the Championship Series?.
Prospect and Hurstville are playing in a do or die clash with the loser bailing out of the Championship Series. Prospect Coach Brian Vella is confident that his side will bounce back from last week?s defeat: ?we will come prepared for Sunday we have a great bunch of confident players who are capable of claiming the title?. Brian Vella?s men have produced brilliant football in 2009 and have the capabilities to surprise the other four sides. However with Hurstville in such good form City coach Peter Sarikakis believes his side can go all the way. ?We have the team to win it this year; this will be a great achievement if we can take the title?. Hurstville Coach also believes his side have the confidence to get through this do or die Semi-Final ?Where a confident team and we have the potential to get through on Sunday, our players are prepared for any competition?
On behalf of Football NSW we wish all the sides? good luck in the 2009 Championship Series.
