Football Stars of Tomorrow Episode Seven on Wednesday
The seventh installment will highlight the TeleChoice Championship Series Preliminary Final between Sydney United v Marconi Stallions.
The Fox Sports segment will feature the special clash which the Marconi Stallions took out in stunning fashion winning 4-2 against Sydney United to advance to the 2009 TeleChoice Premier League Grand Final against the Sutherland Sharks.
This week Football Stars of Tomorrow catches up with Brisbane Roar captain Craig Moore to chat about football in Europe, the A-League and the Socceroos. A junior with Rooty Hill in NSW, Craig has represented Australia at U17, U20, U23 and full international level. Scoring three goals in 43 caps for his country, Craig has played for the likes of Glasgow Rangers (Scotland), Crystal Palace (England), Borussia Monchengladback (Germany) and Newcastle United (England).
Football Stars of Tomorrow?s? ?One to Watch? is 17 year-old Penrith Nepean United young-gun Dimitrios Petratos. An Australian Joey representative, Dimitrios has recently signed a deal with Sydney FC?s National Youth Team. Competing in the TeleChoice Premier League, Dimitrios is lucky enough to play week-in week-out football with father Angelo (41) who also plays with Penrith Nepean United.
This week?s Celebrity Shootout features comedian Vince Sorrenti. Not originally a football follower, Sorrenti has fallen for the round-ball game, in particular Cristiano Ronaldo. Up against juniors from the Eastern Suburbs Association, an inexperienced Sorrenti doesn?t provide much of a challenge.
This week?s ?Star of the Week? is Keith Williams from the St Mary?s Band Club in Sydney?s Greater West. Keith has been involved with the club for 32 years and is a life member. Keith and wife Helen have fostered over 15 children, added with the commitments of the club Keith still finds time to coach an U13 girls side.
?Goals for Grassroots? this week visits Victoria?s Sunshine George Cross Football Club, junior club of Melbourne Victory skipper Kevin Muscat. Fittingly, it was Muscat that presented club President Jamie Chetcuti with the $1,000 cheque courtesy of Hyundai. Formed in 1947, the club has grown leaps and bounds with former Manchester United winger Jesper Olsen now involved with the club.
Coaches Corner this week is led by Matilda?s Coach Tom Sermanni. With the assistance of Matilda?s Kyah Simon and Leena Khamis as well as the undefeated NSW U14 Women?s team, Sermanni illustrates the importance of accurate passing as well as adjusting and positioning yourself for a pass.
Finally, ?Goals of the Week? this week features three goals from Micahel Zendovic (Glenmore Park), Aidan Curran (St Christophers) and Bill Benton (Parramatta PCYC).
