Seven Sutherland Shire locals make Joeys squad

Qantas Joeys coach Jean-Paul de Marigny selected a strong 23-player squad which included Shire based products Connor Chapman, Samuel Chapple, Joshua Da Silva, Giancarlo Gallifuoco, Hayden Morton, Stevan Ilic and Daniel Sadaka.
Six of the seven mentioned players from the Shire are currently with the NSWIS honing their skills with de Marigny.
Statistics state that there are just under 18,000 registered footballers both male and female in the Shire Football Association area, known to many as the largest in the NSW area where a number of high profile stars made their early beginnings before moving off to the A-League, Europe and representing the Socceroos.
