Return of the old guard spurs Blacktown City for 2010

Genc had a tough time at Sydney Olympic where he was appointed head coach at the start of the 2009 season however five weeks into the NSW Premier League competition and Aytek handed in his resignation. The former NSL player was the obvious choice in hopefully leading the club towards the right direction once more and hopefully turning some heads in capturing titles.
Blacktown moved swiftly in appointing Genc at the helm as success was seen in many ways during his tenure at the club where the club took out Premierships and Championships in previous years.
Following Genc to the club in 2010 has also been the return of one the club?s favourite sons Luke Roodenburg. The tough and determined attacker spent two years in Europe and decided to return to Australia with Blacktown City snapping up the former club captain after Roodenburg was courted by several clubs. His presence was sorely missed in the 2009 season and he will certainly add more steel to the Blacktown City attack.
Along with the signature of Roodenburg, former Penrith Nepean United striker Mitchell Long, ex-Sydney Olympic players Jordan Simpson, Mirko Jurilj and Adam Biddle have all once again re-united with their former club and Genc. One of the club?s stars of 2009 in the Under 20s squad Travis Major has also won himself a senior contract at the club.
It?s also believed that the club?s young guns of 2009 Matt Ryan, Luka Dukic, Ray Miller and Joel Chianese will also return to Blacktown City after their respective seasons are completed in the National Youth League.
The likes of Michael Herbet, Paul Karbon, Tyler Simpson, Kain Rastall, Brendan Maroney and Ante Deur have all been resigned for the 2010 NSW Premier League season as the club looks towards cementing a hopeful finals series finish.
Assisting Genc for the new season will be Mark Crittenden while Kory Babington has been appointed the club?s Under 20?s coach.
Blacktown City will be playing all its home matches at Lily Homes Stadium (formerly known as Gabbie Stadium).
