Cahill and Sterjovski Appointed CDSFA Patrons

This was the brain child of CDSFA President Frank Parisi, who made contact with Tim and Mile before the Australian Socceroos Asia Cup qualifier in Oman a couple of months ago.
Through Frank Parisi’s contacts with Mile and Tim, he was able to commit to both Socceroos becoming official patrons.
Both Tim and Mile have told Frank that is was a “huge honour” for both of them, especially after Mile’s involvement with CDSFA Coaching Clinics and Tim being an ex-player of the Association.
Frank is also working with the player’s schedules to try and have both players at an appearance at Pratten Park before the Socceroos depart for South Africa in May. This will be an opportunity for all members of the Association to come meet and greet their heroes before the World Cup starts.
In respect of Tim and Mile being elected as Patrons for the 2010 year, Frank Parisi has honoured the player?s commitments by announcing two junior competition trophies for young players which will be the Mile Sterjovski Cup and Tim Cahill Cup.
“Both players were over the moon with this news,” said Parisi.
“We really hope to be able to get them both at a presentation before they fly to the World Cup. I believe that this will benefit the Association by attracting more players to the district and generating more interest in football in the 2010 World Cup year.”
