Caruana double strike helps Dural to a win over Commodores

Dural were immediately on the offensive and had the Commodores pinned back in defence in the early stages confining their opponents to mostly counter attacks.
Ben Lawson nearly opened Durals account but his stinging shot produced an outstanding save from Commodores keeper Lionel De Souza.
Dural went 1-0 up when Rhys Giovenali robbed an opponent then raced down the left flank and sent a pinpoint cross for Zac Caruana to stab the ball home.
Dural extended their lead when Rhys Giovenali smashed the ball into the top corner of the net from a freekick out on the right side.
Brett Stapylton came very close to scoring when his shot on the turn crashed against the post and away to safety.
The visitors took a firm grip on the game when Josh Codrington in goal quickly released a long throw down court. Three players challenged for the ball but it deflected at pace off the Commodore defender and hit both posts before crossing the line to make it 3-0.
The first half had been closer than the score suggested and Commodores grabbed a deserved goal early in the second half when Scott Dingwall hammered the ball from a freekick into the top corner. 
The Commodores scored again when a shot through a crowded area was parried by the keeper. Daniel Murchison seized on the loose ball to sweep it into the net to reduce the deficit to 3-2.
The pace of the game quickened as the Commodores played with renewed vigour as they sensed the chance of a comeback win while Dural upped the pace in kind.
With players throwing themselves at the ball it was Dural who scored next when Ben Lawson evaded the defence down the left and swiftly found Zac Caruana who made no mistake from close range.
Before the Commodores could recover their game Dural scored again from a brilliant solo goal from Ben Lawson who flicked the ball over an oncoming defender went around him and smashed an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net from a tight angle to make it 5-2.
Understandably the Commodores heads went down and they immediately conceded another goal when Brett Stapylton slammed the ball home from the edge of the area.
The Commodores never gave up fighting and Scott Dingwall grabbed their third when he dispossessed a Dural player ran toward goal and smashed a brilliant long range shot into the top corner to make the score 6-3.
Just before the end Commodores keeper Shane Linton produced two great blocks to deny Ben Lawson.
The Commodores played their part in a really entertaining encounter but in the end Durals class showed through and they ran out deserved winners.
