Quake reel in the Vipers with come from behind 3-1 win

The opening half was a close tussle with both sides going close to opening the scoring. The Vipers were looking the stronger in the early stages and at times were pinning back the Quake deep in defence.
After 6 minutes the Vipers scored when Tom Collins fed the ball to the left where Jakov Radas surprised the defence a little by stepping towards a pass and smashing it first time into the top corner for an excellent goal.
Mascot almost scored again when Jakov Radas teed up Johnathon Kontalis whose shot was turned away for a corner.
But the Quake were full of fight and began to have more efforts on the Vipers goal as the half wore on with Daniel Velloneo heavily involved in many of the shots on goal.
The first half ended with the Vipers keeping a grip on their lead with Mascot in front 1-0.

With 10mins to go Daniel Velloneo turned and hit his shot across the keeper but the ball agonisingly struck a post and bounced away. Then Vipers keeper Luis Soto produced a great save to deny Nathan Clissold
With eight minutes to go the Vipers were beginning to tire and the Quake were getting closer and closer to scoring.
The Quake levelled when Daniel Velloneo sped down the left and cut the ball inside for Jake McGing to bundle it over the line to make it 1-1.
Minutes later the Quake took the lead when Daniel Velloneo who?d been a constant threat the whole game received the ball from a corner and smashed it first time into the net to make it 2-1 to the delight of the Quake contingent.
With three minutes left on the clock the Quake sealed the win when Nicolas Colantonio got on the end of a fine quick passing move to slide the ball home to make it 3-1.
This Quake side are defending champs from the 14 Boys last season and they will be looking make it the 16 boys champs next weekend also. Should be a great encounter against the Allstars.
