Football Stars of Tomorrow scoops NSW Sports Federation award two years running

Football Stars of Tomorrow, although primarily targeted at children aged 8-16, proved to be popular with adults as well and accumulated with a total viewership of 1.5 million.
Its aim was to not only promote the game at the grassroots level, but also to target viewers from various demographic backgrounds.
In 2009 Football Stars of Tomorrow created history by becoming the first Football program to screen on Channel 9 which was seen as a huge milestone for the sport of football with a grassroots TV program on mainstream commercial TV.
The show promoted the game, organisation, players and club officials nationwide.
It also screened on Fox Sports in what was a tremendous season for the show that finished off its fourth series.
Commercial Services Executive Manager Tony Peters, who is set to begin production on the fifth season of Football Stars of Tomorrow which will be now viewed on One HD in 2010, was elated following the announcement.
?Given the tough opposition against WIN News, Yachting NSW and also Sydney Uni Sport and Fitness it?s a major compliment to both the program and the organisation.
?It was a groundbreaking deal to have seen Football Stars of Tomorrow on commercial TV and somewhat of a dream of mine since I started at Football NSW.
?To have witnessed this was a huge accomplishment for the company and the program and to have seen its scoop this prestigious award for the second time in two years was an amazing feat but virtue to the hard working efforts of all involved in the make-up of the show.?
Peters first began at Football NSW in August 2005, given the task of producing a grassroots program.
By December 2005, the preliminary concept design of ?Football Stars of Tomorrow? was established.
Utilising 25 years worth of experience added with the recognition of two Walkley Awards, Peters structured a program that appealed not only to footballing juniors, but to the wider footballing community.
It was a busy 2009 schedule for Peters who travelled to Europe to film Socceroos players and also filmed other celebrities such as Liz Ellis, Phil Kearns and Michael Slater.
?It was received very well by many of the talent we interviewed whilst in Europe.
?I would like to thank Stephanie Brantz also who assisted in the role of being our presenter as well as the film crew from G-Max Media.?
The fifth series of Football Stars of Tomorrow airs on One HD on Wednesday 23rd of June at 6.30pm
Football NSW would like to thank the NSW Sports Federation for their recognition of this achievement.
