SCHOFIELDS SCORPIONS ? GLADESVILLE RYDE MAGIC  2-1
Saturday, June 27, at CSI Sport Ground
Schofields scored a late winner on Saturday to overcome a stubborn Gladesville Ryde Magic in a tight match at CSI Sport Ground.
The Scorpions scored on 20 minutes via Cooper to take a first half lead, and went about defending that lead as the Magic tried valiantly to come back into the match.
The equalizer for Gladesville finally came in the 71st minute, with McKie scoring his fifth goal of the season.
But Schofields eventually broke through for the winner, with Boyd scoring in the 83rd minute to give the home fans some joy on a chilly evening.
The victory and subsequent three points has moved Schofields to 24 points as they retain their fourth position on the competition ladder.
MOUNTIES WANDERERS ? FAIRFIELD CITY LIONS 1-1
Saturday, June 27, at Cook Park
Mounties took on a confident Fairfield City Lions on Saturday at Cook Park, and went home with a point in a 1-1 draw.
The Lions have been in real goalscoring mood of late, and this was a test for the Wanderers to see if their slow improve was to continue.
It was Willoughby who scored in successive weeks to give Mounties a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 24th minute.
But the visiting Lions prowled and equalized just eleven minutes later, and it was silky midfielder Yavos Ekinci who got the goal, his 13th of a stellar season for the veteran.
That?s the way it stayed, with both sides picking up a point, Fairfield staying 2nd and moving to 29, whilst Mounties go to 19 in seventh position, just four points outside the top five with a game in hand.
BLACKTOWN SPARTANS ? INTER LIONS 3-3
Saturday, June 27, at Francis Park No.2
Blacktown Spartans staged a remarkable comeback at Francis Park on Saturday night, not for the first time this season, to grab an unlikely point in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Inter Lions.
On the back of a McDonald?s Cup semi final on Wednesday night, where they took Premier League high flyers, Marconi, to extra time, Blacktown?s fitness and durability was up for a big test, especially when they went 0-2 down within the opening half hour.
Domenic Dimento and Dom Arcella scored within a minute on the half hour mark to give Inter a fantastic first half lead.
And Nick Tarquinio?s men continued early in the second half, with Dimento grabbing his brace by putting Inter Lions 3-0 in front on 52 minutes.
Blacktown would?ve been excused if they started to drop off physically, but instead, they grabbed a second wind, and the comeback commenced with a goal by Zahra on 70 minutes.
Bugaid made it 2-3 by pulling back another for the Spartans in the 80th, and just when all seemed done and dusted, Macrae equalized for the home side in injury time to split the points between the two clubs.
STANMORE HAWKS ? HURSTVILLE ZFC 3-0
Saturday, June 27, at Arlington Oval
Stanmore made it two comfortable wins from two home matches in successive weeks on Saturday night with a 3-0 triumph over Hurstville ZFC.
No prizes for guessing where the goals came from, with double act, Wasim Hijazi and Eli Squillacioti, at their menacing best once again.
Hijazi scored six minutes either side of half time to put Stanmore in a commanding position, his brace giving him a healthy total of 13 goals so far this season.
Squillacioti?s 8th goal of 2010 rounded off a comfortable night?s work for the Hawks, the win putting them on 24 points and consolidating their fifth position on the ladder.
HILLS BRUMBIES ? CAMDEN TIGERS 2-1
Saturday, June 27, at Second Ponds Oval
Competition leaders, Hills Brumbies, extended their lead on top of Division One to six points with a closely fought 2-1 victory over Camden Tigers.
Hills started like a house on fire, with two goals in the opening ten minutes of play from Brendan Mitrovich giving them a commanding lead.
The Brumbies then went about holding firm against a reactive Camden side, and did so for almost the entire match until Semaan pulled one back for the visitors in injury time.
Hills now have moved to 35 points, six points ahead of second placed Fairfield City Lions, having also played a game less.
UNSW ? BALMAIN SC washed out
Sunday, June 28, at David Phillips Field
Sunday?s match between UNSW and Balmain SC was washed out, with the deluge of rain that fell over the latter part of the week taking it?s toll on David Phillips Field.
Both sides have now played just the 12 matches, with up to three games in hand on some teams, and their durability will be tested in the coming weeks as the fixture schedule starts to clog up.
