The CIS Football Cup is open to any affiliated independent school in NSW. With teams as far afield as Wagga Wagga, Lismore and Orange, the competition has become truly state-wide.
The semi-finals of each competition were played last week, under floodlights at Melita Stadium in South Granville. In the Boys? Cup, there were wins for St. Joseph?s College who held out to win 3-2 against St. Paul?s College and St. Pius X College who defeated Barker College, 5-4 on penalties, after a extra-time finished 0-0.
In the Girls? Cup, Pymble Ladies? College was convincing 5-1 winners over PLC Sydney and William Clarke College came from behind to beat Broughton Anglican College, 3-2, with the winner being scored within seconds of the start of extra time.
The Final in each competition will be played at Melita Stadium on Wednesday 1st September, the girls kick-off at 5:30 pm and the boys at 7:30 pm.
