Balmain SC vs Fairfield Bulls

AND
Round Five Rescheduled
Fairfield Bulls v Balmain SC
Wednesday, July 6, 2011 @ 8-00pm at Cherrybrook Park
Balmain SC and Fairfield Bulls face off not once, but twice, in the space of four days this week, when a fixture rescheduling has them seeing double.
On Wednesday evening, the two sides clash at 8-00pm in a Round Five rescheduled match, and they square off again on Saturday evening at Hensley Athletic Field, the match kicking off at 7-00pm.
Balmain are sitting at the bottom of the ladder on just 10 points, but last week?s match against
Mt Druitt saw them score no less than four goals, a positive note, even though they ended up sharing the spoils.
The Bulls are 5th on 23 points, and a win on Wednesday will see they jump three teams into second spot, so they have plenty to play for going into the ?double header?.
Schofields Scorpions vs Stanmore Hawks
Sunday, July 10, 2011 @ 3-00pm at CSI Sport Ground
Schofields entertain Stanmore Hawks on Sunday afternoon, still buzzing from upsetting league leaders, Mounties Wanderers, last weekend.
The Scorpions efforts of late has seen them steadily climb off the bottom, and they now sit in 9th spot on 15 points, the triumph over the undefeated Mounties their biggest scalp to date.
Stanmore have the opportunity to join their opponents on 15 points if they can overcome Inter Lions on Thursday in a rescheduled match, where new coach George Paradisis revisits his old club.
The match against Inter is a real six pointer for two sides near the base of the competition, and Stanmore?s fitness and endurance will be tested by the time they take on Schofields on Sunday.
Gladesville Ryde Magic vs Camden Tigers
Sunday, July 10, 2011@ 3-00pm at Magdala Reserve
Gladesville Ryde Magic need to beat Camden Tigers on Sunday if they are to keep touch with the top five sides in Division One.
Currently sitting in sixth position, the Magic are four points behind second placed Camden, so will be keen to exercise their home ground advantage to snare the win.
Camden will be on a high after last week?s resounding scoreline against UNSW, and you can expect more of the same if Adam Smutek brings his scoring boots with him on Sunday.
Fairfield City Lions vs Inter Lions
Sunday, July 10, 2011 @ 3-00pm at Norford Park No.2
It is a battle of the Lions on Sunday at Norford Park when Fairfield take on Inter in front of their home fans.
Fairfield?s inconsistent season sees them currently sitting in mid table, but they do have two games in hand, and will be confident of overcoming an Inter side who will be backing up after Thursday?s match against Stanmore.
Inter came unstuck last week against Gladesville, 1-2, when they dropped off at the death to concede two late goals in a match where they they arguably deserved more.
Time will tell if Inter can make the most of two interesting matches that have the ability to shape the rest of their season.
UNSW vs Mt Druitt Town Rangers
Sunday, July 10, 2011 @ 3-00pm at Popondetta Park.
UNSW will be licking their wounds when they tackle Mt Druitt Town at Popondetta Park on Sunday.
Following a 0-3 loss last week at the hands of Camden, UNSW were pegged back by a couple of sides just when they threatened to tale a hold on second spot.
Mt Druitt?s inconsistency has seen them gradually slip further and further away from the top five, but three points here could see them back in the picture and give them the confidence to make a late season surge up the ladder.
Hurstville ZFC vs Mounties Wanderers POSTPONED
Sunday, July 10, 2011 @ 3-00pm at Hajduk Stadium
The match between Hurstville ZFC and Mounties Wanderers has been postponed, due to the fact that the Mounties will be competing in the Waratah Cup Final on Sunday at Bonnyrigg Sports Centre against Premier League outfit, Manly United.
Congratulations to the coaching staff, the players, the supporters, and everyone associated at the club for a marvelous achievement in reaching the final, knocking out some big scalps along the way, and on behalf of all of Division One, all the very best on Sunday in the Final.
