All smiles at Evans High School for Harmony Day

main

The Harmony Day theme in 2012 is sport ? play, engage and inspire and that was certainly alive and well as hundreds of high school students, part of Football United, took part in football matches and drills for what was a special day.
Football United uses the magic of football to bring people together for the common goal of creating harmonious and cohesive societies and aims to build capacity of communities and improve the skills of people in diverse areas that includes high proportions of refugee, migrant and Indigenous Australian children, youth and families.
Football United founder and director Anne Bunde-Birouste has played a pivotal role in getting this wonderful program into gear along with Community Co-ordinator Assmaah Helal.
Harmony Day recognises the important role and positive influence that sport has in our multicultural nation and Foster along with Football NSW?s technical director Alex Tobin assisted in that.
Tobin in particular was delighted with how the day unfolded at Evans High School.
?It was a success ? every student involved had a huge smile on their faces and you could really see that this meant a lot to them.
?Football certainly brings everyone together whether its race, culture, colour, everyone was there to have a good time and football was the theme that brought everyone closer.?
