Five young Skilleroos stars competing in Tokyo tournament
Jackson Bandiera, Joe Caletti, Gian Mendez, Jordan Pyne and Zac Speth were selected and are being coached by South Coast Wolves coach Trevor Morgan to be part of the team?s setup in Japan.
In a collaborative effort between Football NSW, Northern NSW and Football Queensland, 16 players have been given the unique opportunity to represent their state and Australia against Under 14 teams from around the world.
13 cities and 16 teams will be competing in this tournament with the likes of the following:
Beijing (Bayi High School), Cairo (U-14 Selected Team), Jakarta (U-14 Selected Team), London (U-14 Selected Team), Moscow(Chertanovo), New South Wales(U-14 Selected Team), S?o Paulo(Santos F.C.),Seoul(U-14 Selected Team), Iwate(U-14 Selected Team), Miyagi (U-14 Selected Team), Fukushima (U-14 Selected Team), Ibaraki (U-14 Selected Team),Tokyo (U-14 Selected Team Tokyo Junior High School Physical Culture Association Selected Team, FC Tokyo Musashi and Tokyo Verdy Junior Youth).
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Tokyo Sport Benefits Corporation and Tokyo Football Association is hosting the 5th ?Tokyo International Youth Football (U-14) Tournament 2012″ to contribute to the enhancement of competitive skills and the cultivation of the next generation of football players through international exchange.
Round 1 kicks off on Wednesday May 2nd with the final matches concluding on Saturday May 5th.
