NSW Premier League Grade 20s Round 6 Preview

With the matches evenly split across both weekends days, there is plenty of football action to be seen and enjoyed across Sydney.
MATCH OF THE ROUND
ROCKDALE CITY SUNS VS MANLY UNITED, ILLINDEN SPORTS CENTRE, 1PM SUNDAY
Rockdale City Suns host Manly United in this week’s Match of the Round. Rockdale  have struggled in front of goal this season, netting only three times in their five matches so far.
They are coming up against an in-form Manly United team, who are coming off three wins on the bounce and have rocketed up the table in recent weeks.
Nigel Mahoney’s Manly have utilised a number of players from the 18s team in their past few fixtures and the injection of young talent has done wonders for their results, culminating in their 4-1 win over APIA Leichhardt last weekend.
ROUND PREVIEW
SATURDAY
BLACKTOWN SPARTANS VS SUTHERLAND SHARKS, 5PM, BLACKTOWN FOOTBALL PARK
Fourth places hosts third place on Saturday evening as Blacktown Spartans clash with Sutherland Sharks.
Both sides were victorious last weekend, Blacktown defeating South Coast Wolves and Sutherland made to work for a 3-2 victory over Sydney United 58.
Sutherland Sharks have only been beaten once so far this season, but that record will be put to the test by Mark Strachan’s enterprising Blacktown Spartans outfit.
MARCONI STALLIONS VS SOUTH COAST WOLVES, 5PM, MARCONI STADIUM
Marconi Stallions are another side who have only been beaten once this season, that defeat coming last Sunday afternoon against top of the table Blacktown City.
They host Richard Lloyd’s South Coast Wolves this Saturday evening, who like Marconi, were defeated 2-0 in Round 5.
Marconi have been outstanding this season but South Coast have been competitive in all their fixtures and will test Franco Cosentino’s side.
PARRAMATTA FC VS BLACKTOWN CITY, 5PM, MELITA STADIUM
Parramatta’s season so far has been one of frustration, as missed chances and sloppy mistakes have caused points to be dropped when they have been in good positions.
Blacktown City meanwhile, are top of the table and the only remaining undefeated side in the competition. They have only conceded thrice this season and Parramatta will need everything to fall into place if they are to gain a result.
Paul de Lucca’s side are, however, playing a decent brand of football and one feels that with the right breaks in the coming weeks, they will certainly be pushing towards the top half of the table.
SUNDAY
APIA LEICHHARDT TIGERS VS SYDNEY OLYMPIC, 1PM, LAMBERT PARK
Both APIA Leichhardt and Sydney Olympic have underperformed this season, with neither side registering a win in the first five weeks of the competition.
Goals haven’t necessarily been a problem, but both APIA and Olympic have shipped goals at an alarming rate thus far, with Tigers conceding 14 and Olympic 19 in the first five games of the season.
They will be looking to kick start their respective seasons by getting a win on the board and using that as a springboard to further success as the season goes on.
SYDNEY UNITED 58 VS BONNYRIGG WHITE EAGLES

Traditional rivals Sydney United 58 take on Bonnyrigg White Eagles on Sunday afternoon at Sydney United Sports Centre.
Sydney United pushed Sutherland Sharks all the way last weekend, only to go down 3-2, whilst Bonnyrigg’s struggle continued as they drew 0-0 with Rockdale City Suns.
Bonnyrigg, like Olympic and APIA, are winless this season and will be looking to put that record right against United, who have played great attacking football but without the rewards that they would hope for, thus far.
