State League One Round Ten Preview
?The students? are coming off a 4-1 thumping of 2nd placed Mt Druitt Town last weekend, and are in the midst of a rich vein of form, including taking their place in Round 4 at the Waratah Cup against Blacktown City FC.
After a promising start to 2012 of seven successive wins, Gladesville Ryde Magic have stumbled somewhat over the past two rounds, with a draw, and their first loss last weekend, against Southern Bulls.
A win to UNSW in front of their home fans will set the cat amongst the pigeons by bringing the field back to the Magic, and closing the gap on the current leaders, so get out to Daceyville on Saturday to see how the clash unravels.
The remaining five matches of Round Ten are all scheduled for a Sunday afternoon kick-off, all at 3-00pm, except Inter Lions vs Balmain SC which is scheduled for a 3-30pm start at the Crest Complex.
Inter Lions were surprisingly kept scoreless last week against Hurstville ZFC, and will be hoping for no re-occurrence against a Balmain side that are proving difficult to beat in 2012.
With both sides sitting inside the top five on 13 points, expect coaches Nick Tarquinio (Inter Lions) and Alex Kaltanegger (Balmain SC) to pull out all stops and snatch a win for their respective clubs.
In other matches on Sunday, Schofields Scorpions and Southern Bulls lock horns at CSI Sport Ground hoping to back up after great wins respectively last weekend, Mt Druitt Town Rangers will be hoping to avoid a second successive league defeat when they travel to meet Fairfield City Lions, Northbridge FC welcome the visit of Stanmore Hawks to Macquarie Uni, and Hurstville ZFC tackle Camden Tigers in an opportunity for both clubs to get away from the basement.
