His strike-rate of a goal per game is unmatched in the league and is a remarkable achievement for the striker, who made his name at APIA Leichhardt Tigers.
Younis looks back at his time at APIA very fondly.
?I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I got along really well with Tony Raciti and the coaches and I still keep in touch with the boys. I have a soft spot for APIA and I look back on my time there happily, and it was a very good experience,? Younis said.
The striker departed APIA to join Bonnyrigg White Eagles for the start of this season and his goal scoring prowess has been the focal point of their 50 point season.
?I felt like it was time to make a move,? he said.
?Bonnyrigg called me a few years ago, but I wasn?t ready to make the move then and I consider myself quite a loyal player. But when ?Bomber?(coach Brian Brown) and Cliff Pointer called again, I thought it was a good time to experience their coaching,? Younis added.
His new club have been by far the outstanding side in the NSW Premier League this season and Younis one of the competition?s outstanding players. He was effusive in his praise of the set up at Bonnyrigg and the 2012 season.
?It?s been an enjoyable experience,? Younis said.
?Bonnyrigg?s a professionally run club, from the coaches and President to the players. It?s been an easy transition,? he continued.
As for his own stunning season, in which he has scored 19 goals in 20 games, Younis said, ?I?m really happy with my performances, but it?s down to the service that I?ve received from the midfield.?
Surprisingly for a player of Younis? pedigree, this is the first trophy of his senior career.
?I didn?t know how to celebrate on Saturday night!? he exclaimed.
?It just goes to show that our hard work since the start of pre-season in October has been rewarded. It?s really great to lift a trophy,? he said.
After such a successful debut season at Bonnyrigg White Eagles, with a Premiership and a likely Golden Boot, it is no surprise that Younis has no plans to move on from the club.
?If they still want me, I?d love to stay!? he laughed.
?Seriously though, I?d like to stay there and I?m very happy at Bonnyrigg,? Younis concluded.
