Terrific weather combined with some wonderful football to provide yet another spectacular weekend and once again there were a number of so-called “shock” results to keep us all guessing about what might happen over the coming weeks.

IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 1 – Overview

Sydney Olympic must have been ecstatic after they collected fifteen points from their home matches against Marconi Stallions while Blacktown City would have been delighted with the thirteen points they bagged from their visit to Central Coast Mariners.

Sutherland Sharks had a good weekend after their trip to Bonnyrigg White Eagles yielded twelve points and Manly United visit to Rockdale City Suns produced twelve points for the sea-siders.

Blacktown Spartans claimed ten points from their visit to South Coast Wolves while APIA Leichhardt Tigers and Sydney United 58 shared the spoils at eight points apiece.

 

IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 1 – Grade 12

Manly United started the day as the competition leaders on goal difference with four wins coming from as many matches and they were up against Rockdale City Suns who were yet to open their account for the season. Manly continued that good form with a 1-0 success thanks to a goal from J. Macarthur and that leaves the northern beaches outfit at the top of the table.

Before a ball was kicked Sutherland Sharks were in second spot on the table after they had posted four wins from their games so far and they faced Bonnyrigg White Eagles who were in eighth position with one win to show for their four matches. When this match ended in a scoreless draw the Sharks slipped back to third place and the White Eagles fell back to ninth.

Blacktown City completed the trio locked together at the top of the table after they too had registered four victories from as many matches while their opponents Central Coast Mariners were placed tenth with one draw coming from their four games. Blacktown moved up one place to second when they were 6-0 winners this week, an outcome that has pushed the Mariners back to eleventh.

At kick-off time Blacktown Spartans were in fourth place thanks to their three victories and their opponents South Coast Wolves were placed seventh with two wins to show for their efforts. The Spartans held onto fourth place when they battled out a 1-1 draw with the Wolves who have climbed into fifth place.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers began the day in fifth place with two wins coming from their matches so far while Sydney United 58 were right behind them at sixth on goal difference and they had also recorded two wins. When this match ended in a scoreless draw the Tigers and United both fell back one place to sixth and seventh respectively.

Placed ninth before the start of play, Marconi Stallions had registered just one win from four attempts while eleventh placed Sydney Olympic had one draw to show for their four outings. Olympic posted their first victory for the season when they were 3-0 winners this week and that has allowed them to move up to eighth while the Stallions are now tenth.

At kick-off time Sutherland Sharks were the competition leaders on goal difference after they had gained the maximum points from their four outings while Bonnyrigg White Eagles were in thirteenth position and they were yet to open their account for the season. The Sharks continued their good form with a 5-3 victory this week.

Blacktown Spartans started the day in second spot on goal difference with four wins coming from the five matches they had played and South Coast Wolves were in seventh place with a win and two draws to show for their four matches. The Wolves caused a surprise when they produced a 3-0 result that allowed them to collect the points with their goals being scored by M. Bimbilovski (2) and T. Nunn.

Unbeaten and placed third, Marconi Stallions came into this match with three wins and two draws to show for their efforts while Sydney Olympic were placed ninth after they had recorded a win and a draw. The Stallions tasted defeat for the first time this season when Olympic came up with a 3-1 result.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers arrived at this match in fourth position with three wins and a draw coming from their five games and Sydney United 58 were seventh and they had posted two wins and a draw. In another surprise on the day, United claimed the points when they were 5-0 winners. Scoring the goals for United were M. Maric (3) and M. Joseph (2).

Placed fifth at kick-off time, Blacktown City were unbeaten after they had registered two wins and two draws while tenth placed Central Coast Mariners had a win and a draw in their five games. Blacktown continued their unbeaten run with a sensational 9-0 result over the Mariners.

Manly United began this week’s match in seventh spot with two wins and a draw coming from their five matches and Rockdale City Suns were eleventh with just one win from five outings. The form proved to be a good indicator on this occasion as Manly ran out 3-0 winners with their goals coming from K. Conna (2) and O. Wiggin.

Unfortunately, the result of the match between Central Coast Mariners and Football NSW Institute is not known at the time of writing.

 

IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 1 – Grade 14

At the start of play Sydney Olympic were three points clear at the top of the table with four wins coming from as many outings while Marconi Stallions were in twelfth position and they had posted just one win from five games. Olympic maintained their rich vein of form with a 1-0 win over the Stallions.

Sutherland Sharks came into this game in second spot after they had recorded three wins from their four games and Bonnyrigg White Eagles were eleventh with a win and a draw to show for their efforts in their first four matches. On this occasion the White Eagles managed to hold the Sharks to a scoreless draw.

Football NSW Institute were placed third on goal differences and they had posted three wins from five games while Central Coast Mariners were seventh with two wins coming from five matches. Unfortunately, the result of this match was not known at the time of writing.

On Saturday the Mariners met Blacktown City who were placed fifth on goal difference following three victories from four games. The teams battled it out for a 2-2 draw.

Placed fourth before a ball was kicked, fourth placed Blacktown Spartans had won three of their five games while South Coast Wolves were thirteenth with only one draw coming from their four games. The form guide proved to be correct this time as the Spartans collected a 3-0 result.

Sydney United 58 were in sixth spot at kick-off time and they had two wins and a draw to show for their efforts while eleventh placed APIA Leichhardt Tigers had registered a win and a draw. The Tigers produced another “shock” result on the day when they were 2-0 winners.

In eighth and ninth places respectively and separated by goal difference when the day began, Rockdale City Suns and Manly United were both looking for an improvement in their standing on the table. It was perhaps inevitable that that this match would end in a scoreless draw.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers began the day as the competition leaders on goal difference after they had posted four wins from their five matches while Sydney United 58 were three points further back at third thanks to three wins from four games. The Tigers continued their winning ways when they posted a 2-0 victory in this match with their goals coming from J. Koton and M. Nezval.

Sutherland Sharks were in second spot with four wins from as many outings and Bonnyrigg White Eagles were placed fourth and they had produced three wins from four matches. The Sharks remained unbeaten when they came up with a 2-1 victory. Scoring the goals for the Sharks were D. O’Brien and L. Kizi while M. Hassan found the net for Bonnyrigg.

Blacktown Spartans kicked-off this match in fifth place after they had posted three wins from five matches and South Coast Wolves were thirteenth with just one draw from their four games. This week the Spartans collected the points once again with a 2-1 scoreline.

Sixth placed Football NSW Institute had registered two wins and two draws from six matches while Central Coast Mariners were twelfth with one draw coming from five games. Unfortunately, the result of this match was not known at the time of writing.

It came as no surprise when these teams battled out a 1-1 draw. The goal for the Suns was scored by M. Lecce and Manly’s goal came from N. Separovic.

Central Coast Mariners were the competition frontrunners by a margin of three points after they had recorded four wins and a draw from their five matches while Blacktown City were sitting in second spot and they had produced three wins and a draw from their five games. The Mariners were able to maintain their good form when they produced a 2-0 victory.

Sydney Olympic came into this match in third position after they had registered three victories from four games while Marconi Stallions were placed thirteenth and they were yet to open their account for this season. Olympic came to the fore once again as they posted a 1-0 result.

The team from the northern beaches doubled their number of victories when they registered a 2-1 result in this match. Rockdale’s goal was scored by C. Lokolingoy.

Sutherland Sharks arrived at this match in eleventh place with one win coming from their four matches while eleventh placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles had recorded two draws from their four games. The Sharks claimed all the points this week when they were 4-1 winners.

Blacktown Spartans began the day as the competition leaders on goal difference after they had registered three wins and two draws from the opening five matches and South Coast Wolves were ninth with their points coming from two wins from four games. The form guide was a good indicator once again as the Spartans produced a 2-0 result.

Football NSW Institute were in second place with three wins and two draws coming from their six games while Central Coast Mariners were fourth after they had posted three wins and a draw from their five outings. Unfortunately, the result of this match was not known at the time of writing.

On Saturday the Mariners faced Blacktown City who were placed sixth with two wins and a draw coming from their four matches. This time Blacktown were just a bit too good as the produced a very strong 7-0 result.

Manly United started the day in third place with three wins and a draw coming from their five outings while Rockdale City Suns were twelfth and they had recorded one win from five games. In a surprising result, the teams battled it out to share the spoils with a 1-1 draw. Rockdale’s goal was scored by B. Owusu.

Sydney Olympic arrived at this game in fifth place with three wins to show for their first four matches while Marconi Stallions were eighth after they had registered two wins and a draw from five games. Olympic posted their fourth victory when they were 2-0 winners in this match.
