If you had any doubts about just how close the various competitions are this season, then you should take a close look at the results this week and the variety of changes they have caused to the look of the tables.

Supa IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 2 – Overview (G12-G18)

Hills Brumbies must have been delighted after they claimed sixteen points from their home matches against Macarthur Rams and Fraser Park collected a handy ten points from their home matches against St George

Bankstown Berries bagged a haul of ten points from their visit to Northern Tigers while Mounties Wanderers earned ten points from their trip to Mt Druitt Town Rangers.  

Parramatta FC and Bankstown City Lions shared the spoils at nine points apiece and the clash between Spirit FC and Sydney University ended with both clubs taking nine points.

 

Supa IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 2 – Club Championship

Mt Druitt Town Rangers started the day as the leaders on this table and they were up against Mounties Wanderers who were sitting in seventh spot. The Rangers were able to retain the top spot on the ladder this week after they shared the points at six apiece with the Wanderers who have climbed to sixth position.

Sydney University were two points behind the Rangers before a ball was kicked and they faced up to Spirit FC who were in third position and fifteen points behind Uni. On a day of surprises, Uni maintained their position when they were able to take only three points from Spirit who, despite taking nine points from the contest, have slipped back one place to be fourth on goal difference.

Bankstown Berries came into this round in fourth place and their challenge was to overcome ninth placed Northern Tigers. The Berries climbed into third place on goal difference when they captured ten points from the Tigers who are still in ninth position.

Hills Brumbies arrived at this match in fifth position and they hosted tenth placed Macarthur Rams on the weekend. The Brumbies have remained at ninth after they claimed ten points from the Rams who are still placed tenth on the ladder.

Fraser Park were in sixth spot at the start of play and they played host to St George who were placed eighth but only four points away. Fraser Park slipped back one place to seventh when they could take only four points from the Saints who have remained at eighth.

Placed eleventh Parramatta FC at the beginning of the day were scheduled to meet twelfth placed Bankstown City Lions. Even though the Lions claimed nine points from the encounter, it was not enough to alter the position of either clubs on the table

 

Supa IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 2 – Grade 12

Hills Brumbies were three points clear at the top of the table before a ball was kicked and they had an impeccable record of six wins from as many games while Macarthur Rams were eighth with two wins and a draw to show for their five matches. The Brumbies extended their lead to six points when they were 2-1 winners over the Rams who have held onto eighth place. The match was locked up at 1-1 at the break with the winning goal coming in the second half.

Sydney University came into this match in second place after posting five wins from six games and they faced sixth placed Spirit FC who had produced three wins and a draw from five outings. This week Uni suffered their second loss for the season when they went down 2-1 to Spirit, an outcome which has left Uni at second and helped Spirit to move up to fourth. Spirit had established a 2-0 lead before the interval and while Uni fought back, they were unable to find an equaliser. Uni’s goal came from J. Fitzgerald.

Placed third at kick-off time, Northern Tigers had come up with three wins and two draws from six games and ninth placed Bankstown Berries had registered a win and a draw from six matches. When the Berries came up with a 2-0 victory they actually dropped back one place to tenth on goal difference while the Tigers have fallen back to fifth. All the goals in this match were scored in the first half.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers started this game in fourth position with three wins and a draw coming from their six outings while Mounties Wanderers were tenth and they had recorded a win and a draw. The Rangers dropped back to sixth when they suffered a 2-1 loss to the Wanderers who have climbed to ninth. The Rangers were 2-0 down at the break and while they were able to manufacture one goal, they could not find another. Jacob Gibbs scored for the Rangers and the goals for the Wanderers came from Gabriel Crissani and Samuel Foti.

Fraser Park kicked off this match in fifth place after they had earned points from three wins and a draw while St George were two points further back at seventh and they had two wins and two draws to show for their six matches. Fraser Park jumped into third place when they were 4-2 winners over the Saints who remained at seventh. At the interval Fraser Park held a 2-1 advantage and they clearly went on with the job in the second stanza. The gaols for the Saints were scored by Z. Lorusso and A. Hamdan.

In the battle from the foot of the table neither Parramatta FC nor Bankstown City Lions had opened their account for the season so it was certain that this situation would change this week. The Lions started like a house on fire as they raced to a 3-1 lead before half-time before taking the final score to 5-1.It seems that the Lions have found some shooting boots as they had scored only one goal in their previous five matches. This result places Bankstown at eleventh and Parramatta at twelfth.

Bankstown Berries were the competition frontrunners at kick-off time after they had posted five wins from six games and they faced ninth placed Northern Tigers who had two wins to show for their six matches. This week the Berries when out to a 2-0 lead before the interval and that proved to be enough for them to take the points and remain at the top of the ladder.

Unbeaten when play commenced, Sydney University were a point further back in second spot with four wins and two draws from six contests while Spirit FC were placed tenth and they had recorded just one victory from five games. Uni tasted defeat for the first time this week when they went down 4-0 to Spirit thanks to goals from R. Norman, A. Sweedan, S. Gosling and O. Kennedy. As a consequence, Uni have slipped back to third place and Spirit have moved up to eighth.

Mounties Wanderers came into this match in third position after they had taken their points from four wins from six games played and Mt Druitt Town Rangers were two points behind them thanks to three wins and a draw coming from six matches. After the match was locked up at 1-1 at half-time, the Wanderers added a goal to their tally in the second half and that proved to be decisive. Now the Wanderers are in second spot and the Rangers are sixth. John Roberts found the net for the Rangers and Adrian Ferreira netted a double for the Wanderers.

Placed fifth when this match kicked off, Macarthur Rams had recorded three wins and a draw from five matches while Hills Brumbies were eleventh with only one win from six games. The Brumbies had established a 1-0 lead at the break but the Rams were able to rally in the second half to find an equaliser and that is how the match finished. As a result the Brumbies have dropped back to twelfth and the Rams have remained at fifth.

St George were placed sixth at the start of play and they had three wins and a draw to show for their efforts in six matches while Fraser Park were four points back at eighth after they had produced two wins from five games. This week Saints posted a 2-0 victory with both goals coming in the first half and that has pushed them up to fourth place while Fraser Park have slipped back to ninth position, scoring the goals for the Saints were J. Halikidis and B. Stavrakas.

Parramatta FC were in seventh spot before a ball was kicked with three wins from six games and Bankstown City Lions were twelfth with only one draw to show for their five outings. The Lions recorded their first three pointer for the season when they were 5-2 winners and that has allowed them to climb to eleventh place while Parramatta have remained at seventh.

 

Supa IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 2 – Grade 14

Unbeaten Mt Druitt Town Rangers led the way on the table by a margin of four points when the first whistle sounded with five wins and a draw on their record and they were up against Mounties Wanderers who had earned their place with three wins and two draws from six matches. When the Rangers posted their sixth win for the season, this week’s 1-0 victory, they were able to maintain their position at the top of the table while the Wanderers are in fifth position. Christian Long scored the winner for the Rangers.

Spirit FC began the day in second spot after they had won four of their five games while Sydney University were sixth with two wins and two draws from six matches. This week Spirit suffered a 2-0 loss to Uni thanks to goals from J. Swibel and A. Jones. That has allowed Spirit to hang onto second place and moved Uni up to third position.

Placed fourth at kick-off time, Bankstown City Lions had recorded two wins and two draws from five matches and they faced eleventh placed Parramatta FC who had come up with a win and a draw from six games. The Lions were beaten 3-0 and they prompted tumbled down the table to eighth place and Parramatta climbed to ninth.

Hills Brumbies arrived at this match in fifth position after they had recorded two wins and two draws from six games while Macarthur Rams were twelfth with only a draw to show for their five games. A 2-0 will has allowed the Brumbies to move up to fourth position and it has left the Rams at the foot of the table.

Coming into this match in seventh place, Bankstown Berries had come up with two wins and a draw from six outings and eighth placed Northern Tigers also had two wins and a draw from six games. The Berries moved up to sixth when they were 5-1 winners in a match which was locked up at 1-1 at half-time. That result has forced the Tigers back to ninth place.

Fraser Park kicked off this match in ninth place with a win and three draws coming from five outings and they faced tenth placed St George who had posted two wins from six games. The Saints shot up to seventh place when they came up with a 1-0 win thanks to a strike from R. Sekulovski while Fraser Park have dropped back to eleventh.

 

Supa IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 2 – Grade 15                                    

Mt Druitt Town Rangers had the lead on the competition points when this game kicked off thanks to a perfect record of six victories from as many matches while eighth placed Mounties Wanderers had produced two wins from six games. The Rangers extended their perfect run to seven matches after they produced a 3-2 result and they have remained at the top of the table while the Wanderers have dropped to ninth. Liam Devany scored a double and Adam Tompkin added another for the Rangers while Fomba Kamara found the net for the Wanderers.

Sydney University were in second spot at kick-off time and they had won five of their six games while Spirit FC were fourth with four wins from five matches. Uni have held onto second position despite suffering a 2-0 loss while Spirit have climbed to third thanks to goals from L. Wilson and M. Duguid.

Placed third when they arrived at this match, Fraser Park had a record of four wins from five matches while St George were in seventh position and they had two wins to show for their five games. Fraser Park slipped back to fourth when they fought out a 2-2 draw with the Saints who are still in seventh spot.

Bankstown Berries started the day in fifth place thanks to the three wins and a draw they had recorded from six outings and Northern Tigers were ninth with two wins coming from six games. The Berries have held onto fifth place thanks to their remarkable 4-4 draw with the Tigers who have dropped back to eighth. Providing the goals for the Tigers were T. Ashcroft (2), D. Vinson and A. Di Ciano.

The Brumbies have remained at sixth after they posted a 4-0 result with all the goals coming in the second half. The Rams have fallen back to twelfth place.

Parramatta FC were placed tenth when this game kicked off and they had a win and two draws to show for their six matches while twelfth placed Bankstown City Lions had one draw from five outings. Parramatta have held onto tenth place following the 3-2 loss to the Lions who have moved up one place to eleventh.

The Wanderers retained second position when they were 1-0 winners and that result has caused the Rangers to tumble back to sixth spot. The winning goal was scored by Rajeh Awad.

Bankstown Berries came into this game in third position and they had posted three wins and a draw while Northern Tigers were eighth after they had produced two wins and two draws from six games. The Tigers produced a 4-1 scoreline this week and they have climbed to fourth and the Berries have slipped backwards to fifth.

St George kicked off this match in fifth place thanks to their three victories from six games and Fraser Park were eleventh with just one win from five games. When Fraser Park came up with a 4-0 victory they remained at eleventh but the caused the Saints to drop back to seventh.

Uni moved up to third with a 3-0 success over Spirit who have fallen back to ninth. Scoring the goals were R. Talarico (2), D. Ivanovic and L. Dos Rios.

Macarthur Rams arrived at this weekend in ninth place after they had come up with two wins and two draws from five outings and Hills Brumbies were placed tenth with two wins coming from their six games. The Rams slipped back to tenth when they suffered a 3-0 loss to the Brumbies who are now in eighth position.
