Round 26 Preview – League Two Men’s
The League Two Men’s competition approaches the pointy end for 2026 in Round 26, with five rounds remaining for the many teams still in contention for second place.
The Match of the Round this week could see the end of one of those teams’ promotion hopes when Central Coast United FC and Sydney University SFC meet.
Match of the Round: Central Coast United FC vs Sydney University SFC
Saturday, 1 August 2026 – 5pm, Pluim Park
A crucial match for both sides’ seasons sees Central Coast United FC and Sydney University SFC look to chase down the top sides when they meet in this mid-table clash.
7th-placed Central Coast United FC will hope to return from their bye last week refreshed and ready to keep their slim hopes of a 2nd-placed finish alive, hoping to defeat University at home just as they did in the 2025 season.
A win for Central Coast could see them rise to as high as 5th, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 10th and could end their promotion hopes.
6th-placed Sydney University SFC will hope to bounce back from their first loss in seven matches last week, looking to complete the league double over the Pirates to keep their chances of a 2nd-placed finish alive.
A win for University could see them rise to as high as 4th on the ladder, while a loss could end their 2nd-place hopes and could see them fall to as low as 9th.
Both sides have a slim chance of promotion this season and a win otherwise here would see them further cement their respective place in the top half of the ladder.
Nepean FC vs Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC
Friday, 31 July 2026 – 8pm, Jamison Park
12th-placed Nepean FC snapped a five-match losing streak with a draw last week with Camden Tigers FC and will hope to build off that and have their say on the promotion race in the process.
A win for Nepean could see them rise to as high as 9th, while a loss could see them drop one spot to 13th.
4th-placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC will look to make up ground in the race for 2nd, hoping to complete the league double over Nepean FC and return to winning ways following consecutive goalless draws.
A win for Bonnyrigg could see them rise to 3rd and be as little as two points behind 2nd-placed Parramatta FC, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 6th and dent their promotion hopes.
Fraser Park FC vs South Coast Flame FC
Friday, 31 July 2026 – 8pm, Fraser Park
3rd-placed Fraser Park FC will hope to continue to fire after scoring ten goals across their past three matches, looking to add to their three-match winning streak and continue their close pursuit of 2nd place.
A win for Fraser Park could see them overtake Parramatta FC and move into 2nd, while a loss would hurt their promotion hopes and could see them drop one spot to 3rd.
9th-placed South Coast Flame FC will hope to bounce back from their last-start loss, looking to continue their usual defensive resilience while also finding a clinical edge in front of goal.
A win for the Flame could take them up to as high as 7th, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 12th.
Inner West Hawks FC vs Dunbar Rovers FC
Saturday, 1 August 2026 – 5pm, Arlington Oval
11th-placed Inner West Hawks FC will hope to grab back-to-back wins for the first time since Round 10 and earn back-to-back clean sheets for the first time this season when they look to defeat Dunbar Rovers FC for the first time in this competition.
A win for Inner West could see them rise to as high as 9th on the ladder, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 13th.
5th-placed Dunbar Rovers FC extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches last week but a draw against Bonnyrigg dented their hopes of promotion, Dunbar looking to turn tight matches into wins for the rest of the season.
A win for Dunbar could see them rise one spot to 4th, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 8th.
Parramatta FC vs Bankstown United FC
Saturday, 1 August 2026 – 5pm, Melita Stadium
2nd-placed Parramatta FC have scored nine goals across their past two matches, making a statement in their intent to lead the race for 2nd this season with five matches to play and they will hope to complete the league double against Bankstown.
A win for Parramatta could see them extend their advantage in 2nd to six points with four matches to play, while a loss could see them drop down to 3rd.
14th-placed Bankstown United FC won their first match in ten matches last week and will hope to upset the Eagles to shake up the race for promotion.
A win for Bankstown could take them up one spot to 13th, while a loss would see them remain in 14th.
Gladesville Ryde Magic vs Granville Rage
Saturday, 1 August 2026 – 5pm, Christie Park
13th-placed Gladesville Ryde Magic will hope to snap a five-match losing streak and get back to their scoring best when they host Granville Rage.
A win for Gladesville could take them to as high as 11th on the ladder, while a loss could see them drop one spot to 14th.
8th-placed Granville Rage saw their promotion hopes take a big hit with a loss last week to Bankstown United FC but will hope to respond well to get themselves back amongst the mid-table pack in the hunt for promotion.
A win for Granville could see them rise to as high as 5th on the ladder, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 10th.
Camden Tigers FC vs Hawkesbury City FC
Saturday, 1 August 2026 – 7pm, Ron Dine Memorial Reserve – Carbiz Stadium
Last-placed Camden Tigers FC will hope to build off their resilient draw last week and continue to find positive to end the season when they host Hawkesbury City FC.
A win for Camden would be their second of the season and their first since Round Seven.
10th-placed Hawkesbury City FC will hope to snap a three-match losing streak and get back amongst the mid-table pack with a match in hand on the teams above them.
A win for Hawkesbury could see them rise to as high as 7th on the ladder, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 12th.
Premiers Mounties Wanderers FC have a bye in Round 26.
