Sydney Olympic Coaching staff walk out

Sydney Olympic Football Club would like to make the following announcement.  

Immediately after the completion of Wednesday night’s friendly match between Sydney Olympic and the Socceroos at Belmore Sports Ground, without any formal notice and without having raised any grievance with the Club’s board, first grade coach Peter Tsekenis and his assistant coach, Peter Papoythis, walked out on the Club.  Captain, Phil Makrys has also advised he will be leaving the Club, as has Manny Giannaros for personal reasons.

The Club has accepted the immediate resignation of the coaches and is extremely disappointed that its coaches have taken such abrupt action without notice and without discussing any concerns they may have had with the Club.

Despite this unfortunate turn of events, the Club moves on and will shortly make an announcement on the appointment of new coaching staff.  It continues to look forward to a very successful 2013 season.
