The reasonably good weather allowed a full set of scheduled fixtures to be played over the long weekend together with a smattering of catch-up matches and there were a number of “upsets” to further confuse the situation on most of the competition tables.
IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 1 – Overview
Sutherland Sharks had earned twelve of the eighteen points on offer last time they faced Sydney Olympic but on this occasion the Sharks had to settle for nine points from the encounter.
Blacktown Spartans went home with twelve points from their first round visit to Bonnyrigg White Eagles and this week the Spartans claimed another ten points from the clash.
Blacktown City claimed fourteen points when the last faced South Coast Wolves and City went one better this time around as they collected fifteen points from the fixture.
Manly United took eleven points from their first round fixture against Marconi Stallions and they added ten points to their tally when the met Marconi this week.
Sydney United 58 made off with all eighteen points when they met Rockdale City Suns in the first round but this week United had to be content with fifteen points from the six matches played.
APIA Leichhardt Tigers pocketed twelve points when they took on Central Coast Mariners last time around and they Tigers would have been pleased once again as they bagged eleven points this time.
IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 1 – Club Championship
Sutherland Sharks started the day as the leaders on this table by a margin of nine points and they were up against Sydney Olympic who were in seventh position. The Sharks had claimed nine points from the first round encounter. The Sharks maintain both their leading position and their margin when they collected six points from the four match series this week, leaving Olympic at seventh.
In Round 6 catch-up action on Monday Sutherland Sharks were due to play Blacktown City but the results were not available at the time of writing.
When the first whistle for the day sounded Blacktown Spartans were in second place and they were facing Bonnyrigg White Eagles who were placed eighth. When they met last time the clubs shared the points at six apiece. The Spartans are still in second spot after they shared the points at six apiece with Bonnyrigg who have remained at eighth position.
Blacktown City came into this round in third position and their opponents were South Coast Wolves who were occupying tenth place on the table. Blacktown had taken eight of the first round points. This week Blacktown earned nine points from the encounter and that has kept them in third position while the Wolves are still tenth.
Before a ball was kicked on the day Manly United in fourth position and they were meeting were ninth placed Marconi Stallions. Manly earned eight of the points last time the clubs saw each other. However, Manly have slipped back to sixth after they earned seven points this week while the Stallions are still placed ninth.
Sydney United 58 arrived at this fixture in fifth place while Rockdale City Suns were in twelfth position. United had taken all twelve points when the clubs met in the first round. United climbed to fifth after they took nine points from the fixture and the Suns have remained at the foot of the ladder.
When the first match for the day kicked off APIA Leichhardt Tigers were in sixth place and Central Coast Mariners were eleventh. The Tigers had claimed all twelve of the first round points. The Tigers moved up to fourth thanks to the seven points they earned from this fixture and the points they added from their catch-up matches while the Mariners are still in eleventh place.

Manly United came into this game three points clear at the top of the table and they were coming off a loss and a draw after winning their previous ten matches while Marconi Stallions were in ninth place and they had lost three of their last four outings. Manly had taken the first round points with a 6-0 result and they completed the double this week with a 4-1 result that has kept them at the top of the table and extended their lead to four points while the Stallions are still in ninth position. The goals for Manly came from J. Trzecinski, H. McCarthy, A. Gurd and V. Hudy
Blacktown City were in second place when this game kicked off and they were unbeaten while South Coast Wolves were in fourth position after winning four of their last four games. The first round points had gone to Blacktown thanks to a 2-1 win but the tables were turned this week when the Wolves posted a 2-1 result of their own after leading 1-0 at the break. The Wolves’ goals came from A. Masciovecchio and P. Cancar while D. Zahra found the net for Blacktown. This has forced Blacktown back to third place and left the Wolves at fourth.

That has allowed the Spartans to climb into second place and left Bonnyrigg at eighth.

While United claimed the points once again, this time with a 2-0 result thanks to goals from G. Antonis and M. Marcic, they have slipped back to sixth due to results elsewhere while the Suns are still tenth.

It was a lot closer this time around but the Tigers were able to complete the double with a 1-0 result with the winning goal coming in the second half. That result, when added to the points they gained from he catch-up match, has moved the Tigers up to fifth position and left the Mariners at the foot of the table.

It was a different story this week when the match between these teams ended in a 2-2 draw. The goals for the Sharks came from C. Talbot and A. Dennis and Olympic’s scorers were S. Browning 1and J. Jovanovski. Both teams remained where they were on the table.

On this occasion the teams had to settle for a share of the spoils as the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Scoring for the Sharks was K. Grozos and Olympic’s goal came from B. Rule. The Sharks have slipped back to second spot while Olympic are still fourth.

Soh while J Casha and N. Pagden netted for the Institute. This result did not affect the position on the table of either team.

IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 1 – Grade 14
Coming into this game, Sutherland Sharks were leading the way on the table on goal difference and Sydney Olympic were right behind them in second place. The first round points had gone to Olympic with a 1-0 result but the account was squared this week when the Sharks posted a 1-0 victory thanks to a first half goal from C. Buswell. That has left the Sharks at the top of the table.
In catch-up action from Round 11 Sydney Olympic produced a 2-0 win over APIA Leichhardt Tigers and that has ensured that Olympic remained in second spot.

Bonnyrigg White Eagles started the day in third position while Blacktown Spartans were four points further back at fourth. The first round points had gone to Bonnyrigg when they were 2-0 winners and they completed the double this week with A. Sherif providing a goal in each half. Bonnyrigg are still third and the Spartans have dropped back to fifth.
Central Coast Mariners arrived at this match in fifth place and APIA Leichhardt Tigers were placed ninth. The Tigers had claimed the first round points with a win by the odd goal in seven but this week the teams shared the points when their match finished in a 1-1 draw. The goal for the Tigers was scored by A. Taouil. The Mariners are now in fourth position and the Tigers are tenth

Bonnyrigg White Eagles had a lead of four points at the top of the table when this match kicked off and Blacktown Spartans were in sixth place. Bonnyrigg were 3-1 winners last time the teams met and that trend continued when the White Eagles produced a 2-1 victory. The goal for the Spartans was scored by L. De Leo. Bonnyrigg are still leading the way on the ladder and the Spartans have slipped back to seventh.

The Sharks were 2-0 winners in the first round clash but on this occasion the teams shared the points after they fought it out for a 2-2 draw. The goals for the Sharks were scored by T. Papa 1 and L. Kizi while N. Cook and G. Antoniou found the net for Olympic. That result has pushed Sutherland back to fifth place and kept Olympic at eighth.

The Stallions also faced the tenth placed Football NSW Institute and they recorded a 2-1 result in that match with their goals coming from F. Sanjar Khani and G. Panayi while the Institute’s goal was provided by K. Cimenti. Those wins have allowed the Stallions to move up to second place.

The goals for the winners came from C. Poulos (2), K. Baccus (2), Y. Al-taay (2) and J. Pandazopoulos. Both teams remained where they were on the table.

Roberts. Olympic are still leading the way but the Sharks have slipped back to seventh.

The Mariners had taken the first round points with a 4-1 win but that was reversed this time when the Tigers came up with a 4-1 result of their own. Scoring the goals for the Tigers were H. Cevriz netted for the White Eagles. Despite the win, the Spartans have slipped back to second place on goal difference and Bonnyrigg are still at the foot of the table.
