The full schedule of matches was played this week and there were a number of “shock” results among the scores, giving a further indication that we are unlikely to be sure of the composition of the top five in any age grade until the final round of this very competitive division.
Supa IGA National Premier League NSW Men’s 2 – Overview
Sydney University claimed sixteen points from their first round meeting with Bankstown Berries but Uni could take only ten points from this week’s encounter.
Mt Druitt Town Rangers pocketed all eighteen points last time they faced Bankstown City Lions but on this occasion the Rangers had to be happy with thirteen points.
Spirit FC earned ten points from their first round encounter with Mounties Wanderers and this time the Wanderers squared the ledger when they collected fourteen points from the clash.
Hills Brumbies collected fifteen points from the last encounter with Parramatta FC and this time the Brumbies added ten points to their tally.
When they met in the first round Fraser Park took ten points from the six matches against Northern Tigers but this time the Tigers claimed eleven points from the fixture.
St George showed a gain of thirteen points from their first round fixture against Macarthur Rams and the Saints very nearly matched that this week when they gained another twelve points.

Sydney University came into this round as the leaders on this table by a margin of a single point and they had pocketed all twelve points from their last meeting with fifth placed Bankstown Berries. Uni are still the frontrunners after they earned seven points from this week’s encounter but the Berries have slipped back to seventh.
Mt Druitt Town Rangers started the day in second place and they had collected all twelve points when they faced Bankstown City Lions last time around. The Rangers might be a bit disappointed that they could take only seven points from the fixture this time around. However, they are still in second spot and the Lions have remained at eleventh.
When the first whistle for the day sounded Spirit FC were placed third on the table and their first round fixture against sixth placed Mounties Wanderers had yielded seven points. This week Spirit dropped back to fourth after they could secure only two points from the four matches while the Wanderers have moved up to sixth.
Placed fourth at the beginning of the day, Hills Brumbies had earned all twelve points from their first round encounter with twelfth placed Parramatta FC. When the Brumbies earned nine points this time around thy were elevated to third position and that has kept Parramatta at the foot of the table.
 
St George arrived at this round in seventh position and their first round meeting with ninth placed Macarthur Rams had returned ten points for the Saints. That effort was repeated this time when the Saints bagged nine points and that had moved them up to sixth while the Rams are still ninth.
Fraser Park kicked off the day in eighth place and they had bagged seven points last time they saw tenth placed Northern Tigers. Fraser Park could take only four points from this week’s clash but they were able to hang onto eighth place while the Tigers are still tenth.

Sydney University were the competition frontrunners at kick-off time and they were 5-1 winners in their first round match against eighth placed Bankstown Berries. Uni remained at the top of the ladder when they were 6-1 winners this week and that outcome has pushed the Berries back to ninth place.
Hills Brumbies started the day in second position, just two points behind the leaders, and they had beaten twelfth placed Parramatta FC 1-0 in the first round. The Brumbies are still sitting in second spot after they posted a 4-0 win with all the goals coming in the first half. Parramatta have remained at the foot of the table.
Spirit FC arrived at this game in third place and they had battled out a scoreless first round draw with ninth placed Mounties Wanderers. When Spirit and the Wanderers battled out a scoreless draw Spirit held onto third place and the Wanderers moved up to eighth.
Placed fourth at kick-off time, St George and tenth placed Macarthur Rams had fought it out for a 2-2 draw in the first round. This time the Saints secured all the points when they won 1-0 thanks to a second half strike from A. Dimakos. The Rams have managed to hold onto tenth place.

After leading 1-0 at the interval, the Rangers went on to post a 5-0 final score and that has kept them at fifth while the Lions are still eleventh.
When this game started Fraser Park and Northern Tigers were separated by goal difference at sixth and seventh positions and their first round clash had ended in a scoreless draw. This time the Tigers registered a 3-0 result thanks to goals from W. Dimartino, H. Gleeson and E. Blackwood. Both teams have remained where they were on the table but they are now separated by three points.

Sitting at the top of the table, Bankstown Berries had a lead of five points when this game kicked off and they had suffered a 2-1 loss in the first round to fourth placed Sydney University. The Berries maintained their five-point lead when they were 3-1 winners this week while Uni have slipped back to fifth.
Mounties Wanderers came into this match in second place and they had beaten sixth placed Spirit FC 2-0 when they met in the first round. When the Wanderers produced another 2-0 success in this game they retained second spot and Spirit held onto sixth place.

Macarthur Rams started the day in fifth position and they had gone down 1-0 when they faced seventh placed St George last time around. The Rams climbed to fourth place when they came up with a 2-0 success thanks to strikes from N. Brock and J. Flanagan. This result has forced the Saints back to eighth.
Parramatta FC arrived at this game placed eighth while Hills Brumbies were one point further back at ninth. The first round points had gone to the Brumbies when they won 4-0. The Brumbies completed the double this week with a 3-1 victory and they have moved up to seventh while Parramatta have dropped back to ninth.
Placed tenth at kick-off time, Northern Tigers had claimed the first round points with a 3-1 victory over Fraser Park who were two points further back at eleventh. The tables were turned this week when Fraser Park posted a 3-0 success and that has caused the teams to swap places on the table.

The Rangers are still leading the way but their lead was cut to three points when they were held to a scoreless draw by the Lions who are now in sixth spot.

Fraser Park stayed at third after they fought out a 1-1 draw with the Tigers who are still tenth. The goal for Fraser Park was scored by T. Van Rhoon while M. Mizzau found the net for the Tigers.

The Saints completed the double when they won 3-0 this week with their goals coming from M. Alvarez, N. Hancock and G. Medakovic 1. That has allowed the Saints to climb to eighth while the Rams are still eleventh.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers arrived at this game with a perfect record of eleven victories from as many games and they had established a lead of five points at the top of the table. they were up against eleventh placed Bankstown City Lions who had lost the first round clash with the Rangers 2-0. The Rangers tasted defeat for the first time when the Lions produced a “shock” 2-0 victory thanks to a goal in each half. Mt Druitt are still at the top of the table and the Lions have remained at eleventh.
Sydney University were in second place when they kicked off their encounter with ninth placed Bankstown Berries. Uni had taken the first round points with a 1-0 result. Uni retained second spot when they were held to a scoreless draw by the Berries who have fallen back to tenth.
Starting the day in third place, Spirit FC were 2-0 winners last time they faced sixth placed Mounties Wanderers. Spirit are still placed third following their 1-1 draw with the Wanderers who have slipped back to seventh. The goal scorers were L. Wilson of Spirit and H. Wiggins for the Wanderers.

The Wanders kept a grip on their lead when they were 1-0 winners this week thanks to a second half goal from Leyton Hinton. Spirit have managed to hold onto third place.
When the day started Parramatta FC were in second place and they had won the first round match against eighth placed Hills Brumbies by a 2-1 scoreline. Parramatta completed the double to remain at second this week when they came up with a 3-0 result. Their goals came from J. Taunton (2) and D. Ellul. The Brumbies are still in eighth position.
Northern Tigers arrived at this week’s match in fourth position and they had registered a 3-1 first round victory over eleventh placed Fraser Park. When the teams battled out a scoreless draw this time, the Tigers slipped back to fifth and Fraser Park remained at eleventh.
