The very good weekend weather added to the excitement of the football as the teams battled it out with expectations of an excellent finish to the season but there are a great many questions till to be answered over the next four weeks before we will know the composition of the various finals series.
SUPA IGA National Premier League NSW Men’s 2 – Overview

Mounties Wanderers had taken ten points from their first round encounter with Mt Druitt Town Rangers but it was a very different story this week when the Rangers collected sixteen points from the six matches.

 

Fraser Park bagged ten of the first round points from their matches against St George but the Saints got even this time when they claimed thirteen points from the weekend games.

Hills Brumbies took sixteen points from Macarthur Rams when they met last time but the Rams were able to take thirteen points from the return fixture over the weekend.

Bankstown Berries earned ten points last time they saw Northern Tigers and they went on with the job this week as the added another twelve points to their tally.

Bankstown City Lions and Parramatta FC had shared the first round spoils at nine points each but Parramatta came to the fore this time when they claimed ten points from the matches.

Sydney University and Spirit FC took nine points each from their first round meeting but on this occasion Uni collected fifteen points from the fixture.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers began the day at the top of this table by a margin of six points while Mounties Wanderers were in sixth place. The Clubs had split the first round points at six apiece. However, this time the Rangers claimed all twelve points to extend their lead to nine points while the Wanderers slipped back to eighth.

Sydney University arrived at this round in second place and third placed Spirit FC had taken nine of the points from them when they faced off in the first round. The ledger was squared this week when Uni snatched nine points from the day to hold onto second spot while Spirit dropped back to fourth.

Placed fourth before a ball was kicked, Hills Brumbies had bagged ten points from their first round meeting with ninth placed Macarthur Rams but this time the Rams took nine points from the day to remain at ninth

In Round 15 catch-up action Hills Brumbies earned ten points from their clash with Northern Tigers, an outcome that has pushed the Brumbies up to third place.

Bankstown Berries kicked off this round in fifth position and they had secured ten points from their first round clash with tenth placed Northern Tigers. However, this time the clubs split the points at six apiece, leaving both clubs where they were on the table.

Fraser Park came into this round in seventh place and they had allowed eighth placed St George to make off with seven of the first round points. The Saints did it again, this time taking nine points from the fixture and they have climbed into sixth spot as a result while Fraser Park are still seventh.

In the clash from the foot of the table, eleventh placed Bankstown City Lions had grabbed nine points last time they saw twelfth placed Parramatta FC. This time the Lions collected seven points and that left Parramatta with four points. Both have stayed where they were on the table.

SUPA IGA National Premier League NSW Men’s 2 – Grade 12

Without doubt, the top two will fight it out for the title over the next four weeks while the next four are battling each other for one of the three places in the finals series.

Sydney University were the competition frontrunners by a single point at kick-off time and they had not been beaten in their last ten matches. They were up against third placed Spirit FC who were coming off a last match loss. Uni had beaten Spirit 2-1 when the met in the first round but the tables were turned this week when Spirit won 1-0. That has forced Uni back to second spot and kept Spirit at third.

Hills Brumbies came into this match in second place and they had earned points from their last six matches while Macarthur Rams were tenth and they had won their last match. The Brumbies were 2-1 winners in the first round clash and they completed the double with a 2-0 win this time thanks to a double strike from I. Mahendran. The Rams have remained at tenth.

In Round 15 catch-up action Hills Brumbies and Northern Tigers battled out a scoreless draw and that was enough to take the Brumbies to the top of the table.

St George began the day in fourth position and they had not tasted defeat in their last nine games while Fraser Park were two points further back at fifth and they had won their last three matches. Fraser Park had taken the first round points with a 4-2 victory but the ledger was squared this time when the Saints were 2-1 winners. They are still fourth and Fraser Park have dropped to sixth. The goals for the Saints were scored by B. Panagiotakis and J. Zelic.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers were in sixth place when the first whistle sounded, just one point outside the top five and they were coming off a last-match loss while Mounties Wanderers were eighth with a win to show for their last match. The first round points had gone to the Wanderers with a 2-1 scoreline but it was a different story this time as the Rangers posted a 2-0 win and that moved them up to fifth while the Wanderers have slipped back to ninth. The Rangers’ goals came from E. Tsakos and L. Abdo.

Northern Tigers arrived at this match in seventh position, six points outside the top five, after losing their last two games while Bankstown Berries were ninth and they had lost three of their last four matches. The Berries were 2-0 winners when the teams met last time and they completed the double with a 3-2 result this week to move up to eighth while the Tigers are still seventh. 

Bankstown City Lions were eleventh and Parramatta FC were twelfth at the start of play. The Lions had lost their last eight games and Parramatta were yet to register their first point for the season. The Lions took the first round points with a 5-1 result and while it was closer this time, the Lions prevailed with a 1-0 scoreline. Both teams have stayed where they were on the table.

The current leaders look as though they will take out the title but they will know that they cannot afford to slip-up. While the current top four look certain to be in place for the finals, there may be some changes to the pecking order.

Bankstown Berries started the day as the competition leaders by a margin of eight points and they had taken points from their last seven games. Northern Tigers were in eleventh position and they had lost their last two outings. The first round points had gone to the Berries when they won 2-0. The berries retained the top spot and their margin when they were 2-0 winner once again this week while the Tigers have dropped back to twelfth.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers arrived at this game in second place after a last-match loss ended an unbeaten run of eight matches while Mounties Wanderers were in third place on goal difference following a run of seven unbeaten matches. The Wanderers had claimed the first round points with a 2-1 result but this time the Rangers grabbed the points with a 2-0 win and that had left them in second spot while the Wanderers have slipped back to fourth. The goals were scored by C. Koko and B. Morriss.

Sydney University kicked off this match in fourth position after winning their last two games while Spirit FC were sixth, four points outside the top five after posting draws in their last two matches. Spirit were 4-0 winners when they teams met in the first round but Uni squared the ledger with a 5-4 victory this time around. Uni are now in third place and Spirit are seventh.

Macarthur Rams came into the round in fifth place and they had lost two of their last three games and Hills Brumbies were seven points further back at ninth. The Brumbies had lost their last three games. When the teams met last time the match ended in a 1-1 draw. The Rams held onto fifth place with a 2-0 win with their goals coming from J. Flanagan and D. Da Rocha.

They are still sixth and Fraser Park have fallen back to eleventh. .

Parramatta FC were placed eighth when the first whistle sounded and a last match win had ended their four game run of losses while Bankstown City Lions were twelfth and they had not been beaten in their last four games. The Lions had claimed the first round points with a 5-2 victory and they collected the points again this week with a 4-2 scoreline. Scoring for the Lions were A. Samios (2), D. Locaputo-Panagis and J. Mamis The Lions are now in tenth place and Parramatta are ninth.

Only the top two teams have any chance of being crowned Premiers but there could be quite a skirmish in the following pack as it is for any of the next nine teams to qualify for the finals.

When the day began Mt Druitt Town Rangers were the competition leaders by six points and they had taken points from the four games since their only loss for the season. Mounties Wanderers were in fifth place and they had earned points from their last three matches. The first round points had gone to the Rangers when they posted a 1-0 win and they bagged the points once again when they won 5-1 to continue at the top of the table while the Wanderers have held onto fifth place. The goals for the Rangers came from T. Telling (2), A. Bangura, C. Long and A. Koudakpo

Sydney University were in second place before a ball was kicked and last week’s loss had ended their unbeaten run of eight matches while Spirit FC were eighth, five points outside the top five, and they had lost four of their last five games. Uni were 2-0 winners last time the teams met and they completed the double with a 3-1 result this time. They are still in second spot and Spirit have slipped back to ninth.

Fraser Park started this match in third position after they bounced back from a loss a fortnight ago to register their seventh win last week while St George were ninth, five points away from a top five berth, and they were also coming off a last-match win. The Saints had won the first round clash 1-0 but the tables were turned this time as Fraser Park were 2-0 winners thanks to goals from I. Martins and E. Ganakas. Fraser Park are still third and the Saints have dropped back to tenth.

Bankstown Berries were in fourth place when the first whistle sounded following an unbeaten sequence of seven matches and Northern Tigers were tenth after their draw last week. The Berries had produced a 5-1 result last time they saw the Tigers. Although they suffered a 1-0 loss to the Tigers this week, the Berries are still fourth while the Tigers have climbed to eighth. The winning goal came from M. Mizzau.

Bankstown City Lions arrived at this game in sixth place, three points short of a place in the top five, following losses in their last two games and Parramatta FC were twelfth after they had lost their last four games. Parramatta had collected the first round points with a 3-0 scoreline but this time the match ended in a scoreless draw. That has forced the Lions back to seventh and Parramatta are still at the foot of the table.

Hills Brumbies were seventh on goal difference at kick-off time, three points outside the top five, after losing their last three matches while Macarthur Rams were eleventh but they had recorded wins in their last two games. The Rams were 1-0 winners on Saturday but they remained in eleventh place. The only goal was scored by N. Atkinson.

In Round 15 catch-up action Hills Brumbies were 2-0 winners over Northern Tigers and the Brumbies are now in sixth spot.

The current leaders appear to have the title all wrapped up and the next two seem certain of gaining a place in the finals but then the next five teams will be fighting it out for the other two places in the play-offs.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers were ten points clear at the top of the table when this game kicked off and they had won the three matches played since their only loss for the season. Mounties Wanderers were in ninth position and only three points outside the top five following last week’s loss which brought to a halt a run of seven unbeaten games. Last time they met the Rangers had shaded the Wanderers by the odd goal in five and it was close again as the final score this time was 2-1 to the Rangers. That leaves them twelve points clear with a game in hand while the Wanderers have remained at ninth.

Spirit FC came into this game in second place after they had taken points from their last five games while Sydney University were just two points further back at third following losses in their last two matches, ending an unbeaten run of eight games. Spirit were 2-0 winners last time around but the account was squared when Uni won 1-0 this time. That has forced Spirit back to third place and allowed Uni to grab second spot.

The teams had fought out a 2-2 first round draw but the Saints took all the points this time with a 4-1 result thanks to goals from D. Pavey-Schanberg (3) and M. Kotzambasis. They are still in fifth place and Fraser Park have tumbled back to eighth.

Northern Tigers started the day in seventh place, just one point outside the top five, with three wins from their last four games while Bankstown Berries were twelfth following losses in their last two matches. In a high scoring first round match the teams had shared the points when they were locked up at 4-4 when the final whistle sounded. However, the Tigers produced a 3-1 win this week to remain at sixth and the Berries are still at the foot of the table. The Tigers’ goals were scored by S. Malone (2) and T. Ascroft.

Bankstown City Lions entered this game in tenth place after losing their last two outings while Parramatta FC were one point further back at eleventh after they had lost six of their last eight matches. The first round points went to the Lions when they won 3-2. The teams swapped places on the table when Parramatta came up with a 1-0 win.

All the places in the play-offs as well as the title are still up for grabs with all the teams in the current top seven looking to earn places in the finals so the next four weeks are bound to be very interesting indeed.

At kick-off time Mounties Wanderers were on top of the competition table by a single point after last week’s loss had finished their unbeaten sequence of twelve games while Mt Druitt Town Rangers were in fourth place thanks to their run of six games without loss. Last time they met, the Wanderers took the points with a 1-0 victory. However, this time the Rangers produced a 1-0 result that took them up to second spot while the Wanderers have tumbled back to third. The winning goa was scored by J. Henry.

Uni were 3-0 winners when the teams faced each other last time and they completed the double this week with a 3-1 scoreline. That has left Uni at seventh and caused Spirit to drop back to fifth.

Scoring the goal for the Rangers was G. Ackroyd-Mosbey while B. Gray netted for the Wanderers. That leaves the Rangers at the top of the table and the Wanderers at second.

Parramatta FC started the day in third place following an unbeaten run of eight games and Bankstown City Lions were twelfth after suffering losses in their last two matches. Parramatta had claimed the first round points thanks to a 3-2 victory and they completed the double with a 4-0 result this time with the goals coming from T. Bonomy (3) and A. Keskin. Both teams remained where they were on the table.
