Northbridge FC welcomes a facilities upgrade to Northbridge Oval

Northbridge Oval is set for a facilities upgrade as Part 2 of the Northbridge Oval Master Plan thanks to Willoughby City Council and Northbridge FC.
The upgrade to the Northbridge Oval venue will provide a refurbished Northbridge Pavilion and will include new player and referees dressing rooms, upgrade of the Canteen and other public facilities to meet FNSW standards.
Willoughby Council has granted $60,000 to complete the upgrade works which are likely to be finished in December 2013. Tenders for the works close on Friday 6 September 2013.
Northbridge FC Club President, Rory Grace welcomed the Willoughby Council announcement.
“We are very appreciative of the strong relationship we have with Willoughby City Council. They are a very progressive council with respect to sporting facilities and they were the driving force in Northbridge Oval being the first public oval converted to a synthetic surface at a cost in excess of $1.3M. Furthermore, the Council has been very willing to assist other councils and FNSW with technical information and to share their experience in relation to Northbridge Oval. Willoughby City Council is in advanced planning to roll out several more synthetic fields across the municipality which will benefit not only the football family but the whole of the local community”.
“It’s critically important quality sporting and recreational facilities are accessible and complemented with well-run programs if we are to encourage people to lead a more healthy and active lifestyle.”
“Access to the synthetic surface at Northbridge Oval has underpinned the technical revolution at Northbridge FC and aided the rapid development of our players and teams over the last few years as we move up the competition grades within the FNSW structure. The Club is committed to playing at the highest level and staying there”.
