Restored competition leaders Dural Warriors tackle a struggling Mascot Vipers at All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday night. The current title holders have used an eight game unbeaten run to climb their way back to the summit and stamp their authority on this season’s league. They lead Boomerangs by a point with five games left and enjoy a five match Futsal Premier League winning streak against Vipers. On the flipside Mascot haven’t won in eight outings and another hometown letdown will see them equal Sydney City’s unenviable eight consecutive home games without a win from 2011/12 – but a confident hand best beware an agitated snake.

Premier League surprise packets Mountain Majik host second-placed Boomerangs at Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium on Saturday night. The mountaineers have impressed in their debut top-flight summer and trail fourth-placed Inner West by three points with all their remaining games on home turf. While Majik’s defence has been stretched (44 goals conceded, only Mascot’s leaked more with 48) they’ve had no trouble scoring big numbers themselves (37, third best behind Boomerangs’ 46) and will surely test the territorians despite the lopsided 9-2 scoreline in favour of Boomerangs last time they met.

It’s do or die for Enfield Rovers when they face a rumbling Campbelltown Quake at Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday night. Enfield are five points off fourth-placed Inner West and can’t afford to drop any more points this close to the finals if they’re to take a fourth straight post-season seat. Campbelltown are on a five match unbeaten roll that’s propelled them into third-place after a slow summer start and have also won their last three encounters with Rovers, including a classic 5-3 round-three win and last year’s jaw-dropping 7-6 sudden-death semi-final victory at Dural.

Bottom side Phoenix Futsal Club host Inner West Magic at Ryde Sports & Community Centre on Saturday night in a big game for both clubs. Fourth-placed Inner West have targets on their backs as they head Majik and Enfield by a few points in the run home and they’ve only enjoyed tight wins over Phoenix in the past, including round three’s 3-2 drama. Phoenix can’t blame their defence as all factors point to a terrible 17 goals scored in nine runs as the reason for their predicament, and if they needed incitement, like Mascot, another loss or draw at home will see them equal Sydney City’s 2011/12 eight straight home games without a win.

Like trivia? Which club has played the most semi-finals over the previous five premier league seasons (since summer 2008/09)? If you answered back-to-back champions Dural you’d be wrong! Inner West, Campbelltown Quake and Sydney City Eagles have each made four post-season entries, Dural Warriors and Enfield Rovers three each, Mascot Vipers and Sydney Magic once.
