Bankstown City Lions finish runners-up at Maso Cup

SUPA IGA NSW Mens 2 side Bankstown City Lions led by Coach George Nohra finished runners-up in the 2014 Maso Cup with a 2-0 loss to Victorian side Altona Magic 2-0 held at Newcastle over the Australia day long weekend.

Bankstown, who have signed a number of players for its new year with the likes of former IGA NPL NSW Mens 1 Gold Medal winner Brad Boardman, club hero Robbie Mileski, Huseyin Jasli and a host of other players that have played in NSW’s top tier competition had a rather successful campaign although going down in the final match of the tournament to the Melbourne based club.

With this triumph, Altona Magic (2008 and 2014) tied the Rockdale City Suns (2011 and 2013) with 2 Maso Cup titles, while Arncliffe Scots (2009) and Bankstown City Lions (2012) have celebrated one title.
