Canterbury, Nepean and Manly enjoy Grassroots Expo success
Almost 400 promising coaches from the Canterbury, Nepean and Manly Association areas took part in the Football NSW/FFA Grassroots Coaching Expos that were across each respective association base this week.
Cook Park at St Marys had 112 coaches on Tuesday April 1st, Pratten Park at Ashfield had 108 coaches on Wednesday April 2nd while at Cromer Park, 193 coaches from the Manly Association on Thursday April 4th all took part in what were fantastic evenings for all involved.
Football NSW Coach Education Manager Oscar Gonzalez was overwhelmed with the response these Expos received as he assisted alongside the FFA’s Kean Marshall on key learnings.
“The Grassroots Expo is aimed at addressing the rules of the game, stimulating coaches and parents to think about their behaviours, enjoying the game and developing a growth and mindset to coaching and teaching.
“To have seen such a fantastic turnout by all these promising coaches from each Association was phenomenal.
“Special congratulations must go to Manly Association as they attracted 193 coaches to Cromer Park with acknowledgement going to Manly Association’s Technical Director Craig Midgley who generated the support of the clubs.”
Hummel gear was provided to all who attended as each Association received the Grassroots Coaching Pack of gear which included 20 balls, and bag, 20 Numbered bibs and cones as well as two weighted Pugg goals.
