Skill Training Certificate success at VSP
Fifteen Football NSW coaches completed the Skill Training Certificate hosted by FNSW at Valentine Sports Park on Saturday 26th April.
Instructor Gerry Gomez put the candidates through a variety of practical sessions focussing on the functional game skills of the Skill Acquisition Phase of youth development.
Gomez was ably assisted over the two Saturdays of the course by Advanced Licence Instructor Danny Abboud.
Last Saturday also saw former Socceroos stars Paul Wade and Craig Foster heavily involved and both contributed to practicals and discussions with the group throughout the day.
The candidates will return to their teams with some great insights into the methodology of coaching in this age group as defined by the FFA National Curriculum.
Football NSW Technical Director Alex Tobin was delighted with the progress each coach displayed throughout the sessions.
“Their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the course was obvious and they were supported by great instruction and feedback from expert Football NSW personnel.
“We wish them all the success for their future coaching endeavours.”
