Futsal Premier/State League Round 2 Preview
Football NSW previews this weekend’s Futsal action in the Premier and State League competitions.
Futsal Premier League
Futsal Premier League round 2 sees Mascot host Dural, Phoenix welcome UTS Northside, Mountain Majik meet Campbelltown, while Enfield hosts Inner West.
Mascot Vipers have their hands full when they host Dural Warriors at All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre. Mascot were soundly beaten by Campbelltown 3-0 last week and Dural were rattled in a 1-1 draw with Inner West to make sure they’re well and truly aroused.
Mountain Majik meet Campbelltown Quake in a dream match-up at Valentine Sports Park. Majik made Phoenix disappear in a sound 5-1 opening-round win, while Quake shook Vipers 3-0 – and adding fuel to the fire is last summer’s traded one-goal dramas.
A strengthened Enfield Rovers welcome Inner West Magic to Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre at an interesting time. Inner West held defending champs Dural to a fiery opening 1-1 draw as Enfield held off a spirited UTS 5-4. Magic and Rovers swapped tight victories last summer and this should be another beauty.
Phoenix play UTS Northside at Ryde Sports & Community Centre with both teams searching for their first points. Phoenix fell 5-1 to Majik last weekend and Enfield edged Northside 5-4 and this game is well and truly up for grabs.
Futsal State League
Futsal State League round 2 pits Botany Bay against West City, Wolves tackle Rangers, Parramatta plays Sutherland, Hakoah meets Raiders, Sydney City welcomes Sydney Futsal Club, while International Football School Futsal face Boomerangs. South Coast has the bye.
It’s double the excitement at Dural Sport & Leisure Centre this Saturday as highflying Sydney City Eagles take on Sydney Futsal Club, while on the other court Parramatta Pumas play Sutherland Shire with both sides sitting on eggs after a fruitless first round.
Elsewhere, ladder leaders Botany Bay Pirates face a shellshocked West City Crusaders at Hurstville Aquatic Centre, Western Wolves meet Mount Druitt Town Rangers at Emerton Leisure Centre, Eastern Suburbs Hakoah tackle Raiders at All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre, while International Football School Futsal host Boomerangs in their debut state league clash at Peninsula Leisure Centre.
