Round eight premier league features Campbelltown against Mascot, Mountain Majik versus Phoenix, UTS Northside play Enfield, and Dural meet Inner West in an exciting match of the day!

Buckle up, folks, we’re in for a bumpy ride when Dural Warriors meet Inner West Magic at Dural Sport & Leisure Centre. The longtime rivals fought out a ripper 1-1 draw in a feisty opening round that attracted eight bookings. Inner West have stuttered through another two stalemates since to sit precariously in fourth place and leave Mountain Majik and UTS breathing down their necks. Magic have only won two of their last 12 meetings with Dural but little has separated the two clubs in every contest, and this should prove no different.

Campbelltown Quake tackle Mascot Vipers at Minto Indoor Sports Centre and plenty of money would be on the home side to win. Mascot have only claimed one triumph against Campbelltown in their previous seven encounters and Quake are showing all the right moves to make a case for trophy aspirations. Interestingly the two sides have scored the same number of goals (25) but the Vipers have conceded 17 more in seven matches to show a vulnerable side, and they’ve suffered six straight road losses.

UTS Northside host leaders Enfield Rovers in a big match-up at Sydney Academy of Sport & Recreation. Enfield stumbled with a 2-3 loss to Campbelltown last week but still top the charts, yet still have every reason to be wary of UTS following a tight 5-4 win back in round one. Northside have shown they can produce the goods when they do actually get it together – unfortunately that hasn’t been in three straight defeats making this a massive opportunity to stake their maiden finals claim.

Mountain Majik welcome cellar-dwellers Phoenix Futsal Club to Valentine Sports Park. Both clubs have struggled this season, Mountain scoring a league-low 17 goals in seven matches and Phoenix conceding a league-worst 36 goals. Majik are still well in the playoff picture, however, and plenty to play for this weekend, and they’ve never lost to Phoenix in three league clashes.

State League round 8

State league round 8 has competition leaders Raiders sitting on the sidelines with a bye while second-placed Boomerangs welcome mid-table Sydney Futsal Club to Canberra’s mpowerdome, unbeaten Eastern Suburbs Hakoah travel to Niagara Park Stadium to tackle an improving International Football School Futsal, and fourth-placed Western Wolves face double-winners Sutherland Shire at Emerton Leisure Centre.

Botany Bay Pirates meet fifth-placed Sydney City Eagles at Hurstville Aquatic Centre, South Coast Taipans host West City Crusaders at University of Wollongong Sports Hub, and Parramatta Pumas play Mount Druitt Town Rangers at Dural Sport & Leisure Centre in an enthralling weekend of Futsal.
