Futsal Premier League Round 13 Preview

Some great match-ups shape round 13 premier league as Inner West host Mascot, Enfield meet Mountain Majik, UTS Northside battle Campbelltown, and Dural face Phoenix, with Warriors three points ahead of Quake, Rovers and Magic (who are only separated by a four-goal differential).
And only a catastrophic final two rounds will stop Inner West (215) from winning yet another club championship as they hold a commanding edge on Dural (189), Enfield (173) and last season’s runners-up the Mountaineers (168).
Inner West Magic face Mascot Vipers at Valentine Sports Park. Inner West are embroiled in a three-way tie for second place and need to keep winning to ripen hopes of a top-two finish. They play a Mascot side who won a second game of the season last weekend, and they’ve traditionally troubled their Futsal neighbours – two 3-3 draws and two 4-3 wins to Magic in their past four encounters indicating plenty of excitement ahead.
Enfield Rovers meet Mountain Majik at Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre in what promises to be an entertaining fixture. Enfield are joint-second with Campbelltown and Inner West, with a final-round crunch match against Quake, but they’ll take the Mountain men lightly at their own peril. Rovers have beaten Majik twice (4-3 and 6-4 last November), while Mountain claimed a 7-5 win in their debut premier league season to underline how close it might be again this weekend.
UTS Northside welcome Campbelltown Quake to Sydney Academy of Sport & Recreation. UTS have hustled and bustled to a solid fifth place in their maiden premier league dash but have their hands full against Campbelltown, who beat them well 6-0 in round six. Quake will need to win big to hold any chance of stealing a top-two spot by season’s end, with a big final round game against Enfield to perhaps decide the playoff seating arrangement.
Returned competition leaders Dural Warriors tackle Phoenix Futsal Club at Dural Sport & Leisure Centre. It’s a simple equation for Dural – win their remaining two games (UTS next week) and win the premiership. However, after a rough road over summer you can bet Phoenix and Northside won’t make anything simple for them. Phoenix in particular have been a bindi in the Warriors stride, claiming a 2-2 draw last season and providing plenty of resistance over five tough encounters.
State League Round 13 Preview
The State League final round is on a knifepoint with six teams vying for the three playoff places behind premiers Eastern Suburbs Hakoah, who play South Coast Taipans at University of Wollongong Sports Hub. There’ll certainly be plenty to play for.
The Raiders take on Sydney City Eagles in a blockbuster at Whitlam Leisure Centre, while post-season contenders Western Wolves battle Boomerangs at Emerton Leisure Centre, West City Crusaders meets Sydney Futsal Club at Marrickville PCYC, and Sutherland Shire face Mount Druitt Town Rangers at Menai Indoor Sports Centre.
The only encounter without a say on the finals line-up is Botany Bay Pirates versus International Football School Futsal at Hurstville Aquatic Centre, while Parramatta Pumas have the bye.
