PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 2 Preseason Cup Round 4 Review
With only one game to go in the PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 2 Preseason Cup, no side has booked their place in the final yet, making for an intriguing final day of competition.
POOL 1 –
Mounties Wanderers 3-0 St George
The Mounties Wanderers welcomed St George to Cook Park on Sunday night at 7:30pm.
The Wanderers easily accounted for St George, coming away with a 3-0 victory. This win put Mounties in the box seat for a Grand Final spot in the Preseason Cup.
Goals from Scott Goodwin, Matthew Mayora and Elsid Barkhousir were the Mounties’ scorers.
Bankstown City 1-0 Macarthur Rams
On Sunday night at Jensen Park, Bankstown City took on last years champions Macarthur Rams.
Jason Park scored the winning goal which pushed Bankstown to third place on the table.
Mt Druitt Town Rangers 0-4 Bankstown Berries
The Mt Druitt Town Rangers welcomed the Bankstown Berries to Popondetta Park.
Bankstown Berries made sure that the finalist from Pool 1 won’t be decided till the final round of the group stage is played, defeating the Rangers 4-0.
POOL 2 –
Fraser Park 1-1 Hakoah Sydney City East
Fraser Park took on Hakoah Sydney City East at the neutral ground of Seymour Shaw on Friday night.
Hakoah registered their first point of the Cup after a tight 1-1. The result didn’t do much for either team as both are now out of making the final.
Interestingly, Fraser Park are yet to lose during their Preseason campaign but three draws out of four weren’t enough to make the final.
Central Coast 2-0 Sydney University
On Sunday night at Pluim Park, Central Coast took on Sydney University in a must win for the Coast.
Uni are still searching for their first win of the Preseason Cup after the Coast came away with a 2-0 victory.
Spirit FC 4-0 Northern Tigers FC
Spirit FC welcomed the Northern Tigers to their home of Christie Park on Sunday afternoon.
Spirit cemented top spot on the ladder with a convincing 4-0 win and have all but ensured a grand final place in the Cup final.
There were four different goal scorers for Spirit as Henry Wells, Gosue Sama, Daniel Cunningham and Aaron Kidd all got on the score sheet.
