Berowra FC kick-off AIA Vitality MiniRoos Program
Northern Suburbs Football Association’s Berowra FC kicked off the official AIA Vitality MiniRoos program which took place at Mt Ku-ring-gai Oval recently.
Not much could beat the emotion and fun that has been taking place at park over the past five weeks as Berowra FC brought through the next batch of Socceroos and Matildas in their MiniRoos kick-off program for 4 to 6 year-olds.
Berowra FC jumped at the opportunity to become an FFA and Football NSW pilot preseason site for the new MiniRoos Kick-off program.
The Kick-off program is an introductory program to football for all juniors of the game, with programs being run throughout the state involving players from 4 to 6 years, 7 to 9 years and girl’s only programs.
Brendan Rogers at Berowra FC has been the driving force of the program which has seen a total of 31 participants registered over the course of the six week program.
Brendan, joined by volunteer youth coaches Jason Eager (NSFA Technical director), Carson Gray, Jack Brown, Alex Lopez, Emily Diaz, Tamar Felsch and Caitlin Crammond, have shown great dedication, passion and community spirit by putting their hands up in becoming involved in such a way.
The coaches, or as Brendan calls them, ‘facilitators of fun’ bring excitement, energy and passion to the pitch that can be clearly seen to impact and involve the children in all activities and exercises.
The program has been designed to emphasise the main themes of MiniRoos football; participation and enjoyment, with players taking part in football exercises in a comfortable and inclusive environment.
Brendan and his team particularly spoke of introducing football to kids at an early age, helping them develop a love for the game along with encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle.
