The cream of the crop; that was the real message as the 2015 NSW All Schools Championships took place at Valentine Sports Park in June.

The two action packed days saw teams from NSW Combined Catholic Colleges (CCC), Combined Independent Schools (CIS) and two teams from the Combined High Schools (CHS) compete in a first past the post competition in both boys and girls.

Apart from being crowned Champions, a spot in the boys and girls NSW squads was also up for grabs as this year’s Pacific School Games were set to be held in Adelaide in November.

Executive Officer of the NSW Combined Independent Schools, Lyndall Jesse, was pleased with the quality on show along with closely contested matches across the two days of competition.

The NSW All Schools ran very successfully over the two days at Valentine Sports Park.

“There were lots of tightly fought matches as teams from CCC, CHS and CIS battled it out to be NSW All Schools Champions and players vied to be named in the 2015 NSW All Schools Teams.

“The fierce competition resulted in some superb spectator viewing. “

The girls category saw both CHS teams dominate as they both took the tournament by storm.

As for the boys, it went down to the wire with CIS and CCC finishing level on points.

The CIS team ended up taking out the competition with a slightly better goal difference.

Jesse stated that players, parents and staff were impressed with all the facilities that Valentine Sports Park, home to Football NSW, had to offer.

“Both players and team management were impressed with the new facilities at Valentine Sports Park, appreciating the opportunity to play at this world class facility.

“Spectators also found the grandstand area a great place to view the competition, even in the rain and were appreciative of all the facilities, particularly the café!

“Some of the teams took advantage of the accommodation facilities available at the venue which allowed for some great team bonding and reduced the organizational load on team management.”

Jesse also commended staff from Football NSW on the hospitality they offered across the tournament.

“Essential to the success of the tournament was the support of the staff at Football NSW who very accommodating and certainly went out of their way to ensure that all our needs were met, allowing all players and teams to focus on the football and competing to the best of their ability.”

The following players had the honor of being selected in the NSW All School teams as they attempt to be selected for National Schoolboys and Schoolgirls sides in Adelaide in November.
