Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre hosted six days of action packed futsal as the top teams of New South Wales battled for the crown of 2015 Futsal Schools State Champions.
A record 270 teams competed across U13, U14, U16 and Opens divisions for both boys and girls to determine who would earn the right to be called State Champions for 2015.
Football NSW Game Development Officer David Plowright is astounded at the continued growth of the game in the state and the ever-improving standard of play.
"To have a record number of teams participating this week shows how much students are enjoying the game.
"It is even more pleasing to see the same students turning out for Premier League and State League clubs in the summer.
"Hopefully a number of these participants will go on to represent New South Wales at the FFA Futsal National Championships in January 2016.
"There is a real sense of community within the sport of futsal and this was reflected in the fantastic atmosphere of the tournament throughout the week."
Football NSW would like to thank all of the participating schools, teachers, coaches, parents, referees and players for making the 2015 Futsal Schools State Championships a great success.
