Wild animals, skipping relays and pirate activity were all on the cards at Kariong United FC’s AIA Vitality MiniRoos Kick Off site in the Central Coast recently.
The Cougar Cubs program has been a great success in its inaugural season as 16 participants have taken part, introducing them to football and making lots of new friends along the way.
The fun wasn’t just enjoyed by the young players though, with coaches also getting in on the act. The 10 week program saw coaches Mark Owen, David Jackson, Lesley Mielekamp and Rhys Owen have a blast.
The coaches have engaged the players, some as young as two years old with games and exercises with the kids imitating their favourite wild animal as they chase others in the group with a football at their feet!
The players also showed their best pirate skills as they scrubbed the deck, climbed the rope ladder and saluted the captain all the time with a football stuck between their toes.
